Elkoorr

I have seen a couple of more recent pups from him. They appeared to have good nerve and decent drive, but it wasnt what I would personally prefer. Too much white on the toes and hind dews that had not been removed before they were sold to their new (unexperienced) owners. Fine in bone too. Possible a side effect of close linebreeding on black recessive? I also find their prices wayyy to high. JMO

I'll preface by saying I don't know the kennel or people involved in that kennel...  But... All of us were once novice in the sport of dogs.  I know I wrote some adds and some letters back 30 years ago that would curl my hair today.  Whether I was foolish, stupid, or just uneducated and naive I can't really say, but I suspect a combination of all the above.  As novices we got carried away with the titles and so forth behind our dogs...   LMAO @ self...  I even once ordered a 10 generation pedigree on my first registered shepherd and got all excited by all the famous dogs that were there.... they were in the 10th generation, but what the heck did I know??  I've grown, I've learned, I've listened... and would know better than gush over some of the things I did back then.
The comment was made that there's a difference between ONLY breeding for the color black... and breeding quality dogs who happen to be black is huge.  There's now quite a number of really nice quality, and excellent pedigree blacks out there.  Marin, Bandit, Onyx among them.  It sounds like this person/kennel is hooked into some pretty well educated and respected people in the breed.  Chris (Von Silbersee) is someone who I respect highly, and is very conversant about dogs and lines both here and in Europe.
