I am sure this question has been asked before... but where can I go to get the meaning of different titles on certain dogs.  My puppy was imported from the Czech/Republic and I was trying to understand all of the things on his Sir VA Flash.  Actually in the past week or two new titles have been added and for some reason his date of birth has been deleted. Do you know what that would be?  I do have the DOB at home though.

Originally he was VA and now it states VA2. I know what VA means but does that mean he received an excellent select twice?  These have also been added, 8x, 23X and VT.  I do not know what those are yet.  AD has been added and I read what that is.

I think SVV1 is comparable to SchH1 right?  He has SVV1 and then SVV2 but wouldn't it just list one or the other like it does with SchH titles?  He also has Kkl1 which I know what that means.

I have come across some webites that have been very helpful listing a lot of the titles and their meanings but I sitll have some left to figure out.

Boy all of these I find confusing but I am sure some of you know it like the back of your hand!!!!  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!  :)

VA2 means vice sieger, second place in the VA-ratings.  2x VA or something like that might indicate the dogwas VA twice.

Yes I believe SVV is comparable to SchH, like IPO.

Here are some links to pages with listings of titles and ratings:

home.flash.net/~astroman/glossary.html  (more of a glossary of terms)

www.workingdogs.com/working_titles.htm

www.k9pups.com/site/657261/page/356586

The last link is particularly comprehensive.

I have the feeling that the SVV was originally a ZVV but got mistyped somewhere along the line. The ZVV is a Polish title comparable to SchH. Listing the SVV 1 and the SVV 2 (or ZVV) is redundant since the dog has to have the 1 to get the 2.

A #x means the dog got the title or rating several times.

Thank you... I think the SVV is Slovik.  Thanks for sending the links above.. I have saved them to look at later.

Does anyone know what these mean?  8x, 23X and VT

Also, what if your puppies Dam doesn't show up on the pedigree website... is that neccessarily a bad thing?

As stated previously, a number and the letter 'x' indicate the number of times the dog received that particular rating or title.

8 x means 8 times, 23 x means 23 times.

I would need context to figure out the VT. Is it in front of the dog's name (a show rating?) or behind the dog's name (a performance title?)

How about you just tell us who the dog is or link to his pedigree, that would really help.

If an ancestor doesn't show on PDB it only means that nobody entered that animal into the database. Do you have the printed pedigree? If so, you can enter your puppy's mother and her parents/g-parents here.

Yes, I guess it would be easier to just give the name... silly me!  :)

Flash Avax Hoff.  The VT is in front of his name but it used to be VA.

Also for some reason when they updated his page they left out his date of birth.

I actually don't have any paperwork on my puppy yet... should hopefully get in about a week.

Thanks again for your help!!  :)

And if anyone can find anything on these names. These are the two that I can't find anything on.

Karnies z Lintichu  (my puppys Dam)
Odett z Linichu (her dam)

This is the Grandfather of my puppy on the Dams side - him I found
Merlin vom Osterberger-Land

I've heard of VST (tracking title I believe) but not VT.

The way I read the pedigree is that the dog is 23 times a "VT", whatever that title means.  Maybe just a different language/country that's throwing us off.  I don't know what the "OV" is either.

What is the link to your puppy's page?

He doesn't have one.. thats something I would have to do right???  I got him when we was 12 weeks and I am waiting on his paperwork.  I should hopefully have his paperwork in the next couple of weeks. I has finally arrived from the Czech/Republic.  He was imported from the Czech/Republic.

When I first put a deposit on the puppy before he was even here in the states I had his Sir's name but nothing else.. so I checked all of that out.  I just find it very interesting.  And what I don't understand I try to figure out.  This week I was just given the dams as well as the names of her parents but only her Sir comes up.
