Zambo is a likely conender for VA1. It is widely assumed he will win, coming off his World Universal Sieger win, and the WDA Universal Sieger win. He has the bloodline, the work ethic and the show experience, He is already VA and he has campaigned in Germany. He will pass the bitework, so he is a contender. However, after some time at stud and one VA rating, it would be nice to see a progeny group from him and I didnt see one listed. (I have used this male twice before.)
Apoll has done well at some big shows. I like the dog..though I do think he is BIG.
The dark horse, Gavin, is a dog not many know. I have not seen this dog of late, but as a puppy he was GORGEOUS and I believe he was 2nd in California at a Sieger Show as a puppy. He is an XBox son out of a Kirschental mother. I hope to see Gavin do well.
From a personal standpoint, I am rooting for Waiko and Nandro becasue I have recently used both males, and have very nice puppies from them!
Waiko is the whole package - he can work, he has the conformation, movement, and his temperament is rock solid. He has been used at stud alot, in a short time, which is nice to see, and his Team has been working hard to get a progeny group to Canada. For me, no matter how good the dog, if he doesn't produce well, he is of no use to me as a breeder. Not only have I seen other nice Waiko puppies, I am very pleased with mine. Super confident, beautiful puppies. I had NEVER had a sable litter, was not a fan, but I liked Waiko, and I respect Randy, who believes in the dog, so I bred to him...I love the red sable puppies and am planning to breed to Waiko again. (I also got some very red and black puppies in that litter.) Will a show line sable go VA? It would sure be nice!
Nandro is another male I know personally. I love his pedigree - to Quartz and to Baru Haus Yu from his sire, & thru his mother line, to Zeppo Klebinger Schloss. This is a handsome dog, not oversized at all, and he can move. He has a very successful show record. I have puppies from his first litter, and they are very nice. I'd look for him to be back and present a group next year.
Windd is a dog I have liked since he was young and untitled. The owners do a very good job with their dogs, and I am sure Windd will be a contender.
