| Maybe I'm just horribly misinformed, but the dog pictured on the site doesn't look like a American showline at all. Yes it does have horribly extreme angles, however if I'm not mistaken American showlines go for nice straight backs that sometimes go to horribly acute angles. That dog pictured is overly roached. Which is a fault more typical of the showlines overseas. . |

| OK...The picture on that website that they call an American Showline dog is one that I have seen in classifieds on this site...And if I recall, it is not only NOT an American Showline, it's not even in this country. Somewhere in Europe. And I've commented on how short the dog is, and the overall appearance of the dog before. Neither of those dogs is American bred, or American lines. Crys |

| I saw a ton of mistakes on that website, so I wouldn't take what you read there as the gospel truth. For one thing, there is a part where the writer says that Schutzhund is way better training than police dog training, and I bet, if you ask Jim (slamdunc) or any of the other K9 officers here who do both Schutzhund and police work with their dogs, I bet it's the police training that they are most reliant on, day to day. Anyway, not impressed with the site...Didn't look any further than that page. Cyrs |

| jc.carroll, In my opinion, that puppy is really over stacked....I bet if she were stacked properly, she wouldn't apppear to be so extreme.....However, at that age most of them appear to have a ton of angulation that could possibly lessen as they mature.....Some do and some don't loose it......But yes, this is pretty typical of an Am S/L puppy.....This puppy is nice....JMO |

| Nona, I agree with the over-stacking, but the breeder, Whispawillow, is known for producing some of the longest GSDs you're apt to see. They're also one of the rare North American-type breeders that works with sables. |

| Actually, jc, I think Nona was talking about the "American showline" dog on the website referenced by the OP...I could be wrong, but I think that's what she was talking about. The dog shown in the pic, by Whispawillow, looks waaaayyyy too long for what the standard calls for, and their dogs should never place in shows. But the show world isn't about standards. It's about looks, and money. The standard is a mere suggestion. Crys |
