Bee, I was being sarcastic about Mithuna's "older ladies" comment(s) in the past. He's just trying to get a rise out of women. I bet he's not much younger than I, if at all. But accuracy was never the point- inciting drama was.

And if you're 29 still, well...I guess I'm catching up fast!

Bavarian Wagon, you are comparing apples and oranges. The dog I was talking about does NOT light up and try to attack random strangers. Unlike Mith's dog, anyone can pet this dog, - though she is rather aloof with strangers the way a good GSD is supposed to be - except maybe the club decoy. She has LEARNED to regard him as the 'bad guy', the guy she has to bark at, whether he's wearing a sleeve and scratch pants or not. And no, she doesn't try to lunge at him and take a piece out of him, but just barks, the way she has been trained to do for a bark and hold. And what it shows to me is a dog that is focused on the person, and not on the equipment the way so many sport dogs are.

I think Mith's dog has the potential to be a good dog, but it needs TRAINING. As several people have said in this thread, a good, stable GSD does not try to go after anyone that wants to pet it the way Mith's dog does. And in my opinion, and the opinion of many others in this thread, this is Mith's fault, for not taking a leadership role with the dog, and teaching it basic obedience.

No worries sunny, just go with whatever your heroes tell you. Life will be much better that way. A dog reacts at a passive human not wearing any equipment on a field is somehow different than a dog that reacts at a passive human not wearing equipment on the street? Apples are oranges only when you want them to be...

The only mistake mithuna has made is talking about his dog and telling stories on the Internet. You're all biased and can't be objective about the dog because you dislike the poster.

Don't even get me started on the "national level helper doesn't mean shit" club. Just take a look who that's coming from...people that have probably not even done a regional trial, much less a national, and have never stepped foot on a national field even with a trained dog. Sad what this venue has turned into, can't even give respect where respect is due.

I really wish he'd pointed out which National helper is his from the photo I posted back on page 5.

Amamzing. The poster is being belittled for asking question and not responding to the liking of some people. That sure will bring up quality of this forum. Badger people who ask questions. What if you are wrong? HUH? And then badger people who do their best to give answer. While all I have done is tried to help. I have counted at least 3 posts attacking me here on this thread not for what I was saying but because I have some mysterious relationship with Mithuna? and calling me "Alpine manly men" -A great compliment by the way. I 'll make me a Tshirt like that:)).
I know I am going to be attacked for this too, but I always assume and trust that people like Mithuna asks questions in good faith. I do not care if I like that person or not. Heck I answered in good faith dog questions to known international trolls and they then used it against me. I do not care!. To me I hope, that here we all have one thing in common  and that is love of the dogs . I am  always answering those questions as honest questions because they can bridge hearted, and boundary lines between religions and nationalities and political differences. As far as I am concerned, it is not up to me to judge other people's motivations to ask dog question. Also even if the OP is not honest, which at this point, I do not think is the case, there are supposedly thousands of people reading this forum. So they too can benefit from the questions and answers which were posted here by many regardless of the motivation of the poster.
I have always hoped that this forum is here to help specifically people who have dog problems. I was always taught to treat people as if they were sincere. I may have failed to do so in other threads, but I will never violate that rule when we talk dogs.
Yes Mithuna did not respond to heart felt advices much and it also concerned me. But so what? Maybe he is not good at such compliments and communication. And as I have said I never post and none of the answers here are just for the person who asks the question.
Anyway ... just saying.Teeth Smile

Nah, just ignored. Sending members PMs filled with vulgar messages is always sincere, right? And Hans please don't even go here as I remember when someone bought a dog off you and you weren't very sincere with them for the love of the breed(cough). I love the breed like many posters who have offered solid advice only to be treated like crap. Makes all the members here just jump for joy to help this person. Now people are frustrated but you are late to the party and only know part of the story.

"I know I am going to be attacked for this too, but I always assume and trust that people like Mithuna asks questions in good faith." I see you still have that crystal ball out predicting what will happen in the future. SMH.

Mithuna

by Mithuna on 28 June 2016 - 04:06

I am quite surprised that a few posters on this thread has floated the " not like Mithuna / not like op " statement . To begin with anyone's alleged like to dislike it not of any significance. Further it is quite ridiculous that someone take a few hundred text characters appearing in a web browser, and use that to represent a person, upon whom they may thereafter confer their like or dislike; even worse is the thought that this same mode of intelligence is being used to float all sorts of hypotheses of various dog issues. And on top of all of this, it is being demanded that this be respected and implemented .

I did mention that I appreciate  the opinion of male posters like Gee, Prager, Black Malinois,  GSD fan and Duke.
There are also intelligent posters over t Alpine like Chip Blasiole, Clifton Anderson, Aakay, Rexy, and Sport Guy.

BW, "Sad what this venue has turned into, can't even give respect where respect is due." Huh? This venue is 1000% better than it has been in years. I resent that comment because you have only been here around a year so you have no clue what has happened in the past or do you?

As far as the OP goes - I think people generally tried to help in the beginning but when you are slammed, cut down and made to feel like shit for giving honest answers to someone that don't want to listen to those answers, well I hope you can get the point. This site like all forums has had issues in the past with many members. I love dogs, dog people not so much. Only because I have seen some real winners here and have found out the hard way I guess many GSD owners don't take corrections as well as their dogs. If our dogs acted like some people here our breed would be dead. Just sayin.
