I do not think the female is pregnant. She needs to be checked since last mating was no good either. Do a prog test and quite personally the male might have no sperm count either Check both male and female next time . YR |

Hi Her recent mating I checked the male. He just had a litter a few weeks beforehand. We also checked the prostatic fluid if it had a lot of sperm. I'm beginning to think it's my bitch LOL.

Hi She's day 57 today if following first mating. 53 days if following her third and last mating. She's still the same though when we sit, she claws on the floor. And she's been very keen on her grooming. She licks her vulva a lot, licks on her legs and stomach. Well we'll know soon enough. She's eating better since yesterday since over the weekend she's been difficult to feed. Regardless of whether pregnant or not, I just wish her to be healthy. The vet said she can still be pregnant either with a small litter or carrying high. We'd rather not her scanned for now to not create stress. She has a thing with vets because she expects to be injected with a needle. And she hates hates needles and cries (really loudly you can hear her "howling" from the second floor) when she sees a syringe.

yea, i just looked up, her due date would be July 9th from first tie, yea any time now if she is. if she does not have pups this time i would go check for breeding test for ( brucella, vagina cultures ,Mycoplasma ), if you did not have them done- and also maybe do an ultrasound to make sure all looks good in side. my girl is also showing the same off feed signs , which is not normal for her , so i think she is pregant but with a very small litter, i dont think the pups are taxing her like a bigger litter of 6-8 would. she is 7 weeks on wed. you will know soon enough.

Does she have any signs of Milk or producing milk yet? Tofday is the 3rd so she should have some production of milk whether one pup or 4 etc. I would be worried if she has one or two no milk so get one can of baby formula and a bottle for newborn so you are ready YR

If you have not done ovulation timing, the due date cannot be known very well. It is close to 63 days after LH surge.

You're going to create stress when you have to rush her for a c-sectuion because you were being so careful of her feelings...

Hmmm for the past few nights she's been scraping and digging the floor. When she's out walking with me, she stops to dig the floor/grass/soil. When she goes in to her kennel to eat or to rest or at night, she sits and then starts to scrape out the floor. I dont wanna give myself false hope but could she be expessing nesting behavior? As of late I've been convinced she wasn't pregnant but well, this happened. Vet's coming this Saturday to check her out.

Sounds like nesting behavior. You could still be a few days or a week out. My girl, Rose, started nesting a week before the big day. She also did not nest all the time. She nested for a day, then went 2 - 3 days before nesting again. |

Hi fawndallas, Thanks. Well hopefully she's in whelp. She is still not big, no big appetite, no cumbersome walk of a pregnant girl trying to get comfortable. She still buzzes about barking at birds and doesn't seem lethargic at all. Lately I've been convinced she's not pregnant. Hope she is :)

Up until the last 2 days, nothing stopped Rose. She still played like a puppy. Even on the last 2 days, the only real sign it was coming soon was her tempature and her "flopping" around a lot at night.

Hi guys, This morning, after feeding my dog, (she ate the entire bowl without being a picky diva today LOL), I noticed a string of mucus from her vulva. Mucus plug? LOL but she still does not look pregnant, still whizzing about and barking and all that. With the constant digging and now, this mucus, hopefully I've been wrong all this time. If pregnant her due date is this coming Monday/Tuesday. Vet's coming this Saturday for check-up. :)

Mine didn't look pregnant w/4 pups. She's a broad, wide bitch w/wide hips and well-sprung ribcage and I wasn't convinced she was pregnant until she started nesting about 1 hour prior to the first pup (she tends to procrastinate, LOL).

yes, it does sound like you have maybe a small litter, some never show while others do, some eat like crazy while others dont, but her nesting is a sure sign. i think small litters dont tax the female so they dont need to eat like crazy, i see it in my female too, i also dont think mine will show ,small litter i am sure. good luck and do tell use what you end on having.

I have had a female that had all signs -- nesting --milk--mucus plug-- lack of appetite-- and all for phantom |

Thanks guys. I have everything ready right now since I bought supplies (aspirator, thermometer, puppy milk etc) the last time we tried getting her pregnant. That one didn't conceive so I kept the supplies. If pregnant, this will be her first litter.

So odd, After yesterday morning's clear mucus episode she was fine. But just woke up to feed her and she seems a bit thinner? Or maybe it's just me.
