was wondering what  kind of collar you use for a puppy, in the show ring, as the adult collar would be too big and i have not seen a puppy type like the adult one. i am talking about the German show ring- and am looking to show a young puppy at 3 months old at the WDA SS this year.

the sprenger fur saver is pretty much the collar of choice. be sure to get the 3mm. lots of places selling 4mm, which is more appropriate for bully breeds.

best,
Rik

I'm sorry but that is bs - the 4 mm fur saver is the original Springer size made for GSD's and other working breeds in the late 19th century, not made for bully breeds.
The 3 mm however would be enough for your pup.

www.hund-sport-shop.de   They are the makers of KLIN collars & leads.

The collar I bought was just like this one but separate --- Befreiungsleine, I also bought leads from them -- very good quality.

The whole site is in German (I know no German but we managed to communicate and their sevice was excelent).

The only let down for me was that they do not accept PayPal.

You can also just use a lightweight regular choke collar.

If you don't have a collar just wait and buy one from a vendor at NASS.

I would not wait until the show as your dog needs to get used to training with the collar you intend to use.

Just this weekend my handler changed my puppy's collar during the show and she just didn't work whilst using this other collar and we had to change back to her usual one.
