There ya go, let's have a uniform requirement for female handlers at trials. And I don't mean plaid miniskirts.

At my first trial we were  told to dress "appropriately."  Dont dress like a hillbilly in jeans and wife beater undershirt, or something else that will put the sport down.  We were told this is a sport so dress like it.  Some judges i were told will not take points off but will judge more harshly if you dress like this sport doesn't mean much to you.  I am already wondering what to wear for the next trial i participate in.

A clean track suit with clean runners (do take time to scrap of the dog poo)  is always best.  It looks tidy and is not distracting in any way.  ( I do not mean grey sweats :) Dockers and a polo shirt also looks nice but some people find it a bit binding.

That's the rumor, YR. No more Mr. & Mrs Dog. They did/do look like the perfect couple, not? The Simmons - another match made in heaven.

I was well acquainted with two female bounty hunters in CO, one married and one single that was super hot.  They hosted a bust or two for Dog's crew.  If I was him on the rebound, I'd be looking that gal up for sure ;-)  But if he didn't treat her right, he'd suffer some "dog aggression" from one of my pups, ha ha.

Sweet, now that Jenni isnt interested, Dog is all mine!  Gotta love the billowing chest hair emanating from under his vest.  Though I'm not sure I'm his type...I'm not quite as, uh, top heavy as his ex

LOL Jenni and YR! Thanks...Burlap sack definitely an option if I want dogs hanging off me! :D I think my question was taken wrong, it's something I have seen happen with women both from reactions by men (and women) not taking them seriously and women being nasty or men being rude. Not one of the women I've seen it happen to dressed inappropriately (like you even could if you wanted to be comfortable), think the most skin I've ever seen was long cargo shorts. Generally where I've trained it was either early or later in the day and not warm enough for bikinis.

not to add fuel to the fire and I did skip a few pages towards the middle/end....
But i think man are better dog handlers, women are better man handlers, so why bust your butt trying to handle a difficult dog when you can have a man do it for you?.... :)

I kind of like the bring scary husband to training idea. Sadly mine wouldn't be able to handle a dog without a lot more training of his own. I'm going to go sashay around the house singing I'm too sexy for the Schutzhund now. :D Right now we are kind of far from any clubs so I will have to hire a helper locally until my pup is old enough to do more (and once he's old enough to do more even). Which I hate because I love seeing some of those youngsters out there and you do learn so much just from watching others working. To be honest though I probably would do best having someone else handle my dog at an actual competition, I'm sure the dog could do it but I'd walk into a tree or trip over a blind because I'd be so nervous.

GSDPack,
How did a good looking woman like yourself ever title a dog?  Must have been very hard or was it just talent and hard work?  Could it have been that you actually trained your dogs?  Obvisously you didn't do it on good looks alone according to this thread?

I have learned 3 things from this thread:
1. Jeff has been the catalyst for some of the longest discussions on the board.
2. have enjoyed some comments and insight from susie.
3. there is a German Shepherd in the pic that babyeagle posted, but it may take a few minutes to pick out.
