Darylehret said: " And then there's dogs of a regional or national level who couldn't get 2 X BH, ha ha.   25 X BH, would probably say a lot more. "

Do you really know what you are talking about ???

All theoretical my dear.  If it could be put to the test, I think you might be surprised.

Daryl,
The training to maintain a reliable performance over time is more of a temperament test than a simple BH.  I have addressed that several times.  Do I need to go through all of the exercises and training?  Let me say this: It is a lot easier than it looks to prepare and compete with a dog and trial the dog multiple times.  Watching videos of trials is easy, training and competing is more difficult.  Again, a BH is simple and repeating a BH can be done with virtually any dog.

"Reliable performance over time" is kind of like a GPA, right?  SSDD.  Such focus on repetition and specialization can not tell me enough as a breeder, but as a handler, that's probably a useful angle to prioritize your selections.

You've certainly shown stellar persistance in nitpicking some offhand comment I made, so you get the big award for timewasting practice.  And how many more times do you have to say that a trial is more difficult than a BH?  No duh, and so what?!  That's not the point!

I nitpicked an offhanded comment you made?   You made a statement and I asked you to clarify it.  You are correct this was a complete waste of time.

I think Susie summed it up best.  I'm finished with this, you have derailed the OP and thankfully knowledgeable people responded to answer the original question.  There is no point to be made in responding to you any further.

Good.  Now quit semi-stalking my posts, and pressing me on BS matters of no importance.  If you need to feel important, go pick on someone in the girl's social forum.

1. I´m not your dear...
2. You should start being practical instead of theoretical, might change your mind...

Just trying to be polite.  I'm very practical.  But so practical that I don't allow myself to entertain an amusing thought?  Never.  You should try being less serious.

" You should start being practical instead of theoretical, might change your mind..." That is hard to do when theoretical and the Internet is all that is available. Well there are always those charts and graphs to fall back on.

Just couldn't help yourself, huh?  Is internet your only friend, Jim?  You must be a real jerk in person, to be spending all your time here.

Oh no you didn't!

LOL. This is just so small and petty that I'm howling with laughter all the way here in Ontario.

Ha ha, what else would you call it?  Nothing ever discussed there but recipes and ex husbands!  Oh, and sock puppet syndrome.

LOL, Daryl, I'll be happy to start a topic for you! What is your 2nd most favorite thing, after dogs and puppies?  .... Oh, unless it is guns. Someone else besides me, will have to start that one!

Oh, I tried that, shortly before I got the boot.  I started a photography thread.  The interest was only luke warm, compared to the usual drama they prefer to engage in.

Well, I think it is a great idea. You seem to have a natural eye for composition. Sometimes it takes more than once for us ladies to get it right. Lately, all the drama has been, uh, eh, hmmm, here! LOL

Hey picture this ...... there is a dog back in many working pedigrees whose name is Ignaz v ............... cannot remember the name and he is repsonsible for being titled SchH3 over 150 times .....in Germany .............. maybe regardless of score some people just enjoy and love to trial there dog regardless of who, what, when, where or why ....... and of course sometimes how !   I find it so much fun to trial and train in so many venues ..... I have trialed on the local, regional, national and world championships with police dogs and have been successful in the past and now doing just IPO since retirement. Regards and have fun working your dog !  Greg
