Steph.Welcome to the world of gsd showing. There are 2 weekly dog papers(cost at the moment is £2-20p each,OUR DOGS n DOG WORLD,u can order these from your newsagent n they come in on a Friday. You can visit 2 show websites....FOSSE DATA n HIGHAM PRESS n u can download both open n championship schedules from there or rely on the dog papers. Most exhibitors probably pick up schedules for the general open/champ.shows +breed clubs shows at the shows themselves. Now i,m not being nosey(well i probably am)but wot breeding is your puppy?I ask because there are(altho.it shouldnt be)3 different camps for gsds....ALSATIAN,GERMANIC OR WOT IS CLASSED AS MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.You have to go under the right judge, coz.if u dont u will find yourself down the line or worse still have an award withheld by the judge. If your pup is of the german type i can give u details(after asking those concerned)of breeders who can help u or you could if you want send me a request as a facebook friend with a message saying its in connection with your thread on PDB.Or if u wish just pm me on here.Wotever u decide good luck with your pup n enjoy.Carole Spelman,Rheinmeister gsds.

P.S.I also noticed that u said he was placed in a colour class.Wot colour is he ,if its black/tan,black /gold,bi-colour,sable or black then he is of standard colour but if he is a blue,blue/tan,blue sable,liver,liver/tan,liver sable, white, cream champagne,a panda shep or any other combination of colour he would be of a non standard colour n would not be placed at KC open or champ.shows.You would have to attend  shows run by the whites/Long coat gsd society(more widely known as W.A.L.C.S)who run companion shows n gsd rallys n cater for all gsds.Long coats with normal standard colours are now having classes put on for them by most GSD BREED CLUBS.I hope i havent offended u by my questions but i wish to help u all i can so i must ask these questions.Carole Spelman Rheinmeister gsds.
