Sunsilver

Here's some proof, regarding what just one of Trump's picks has done to harm the environment. As pollution knows no boundaries, yes, this concerns me:

FYI, Pierre Trudeau, Justin's father, was a practising Catholic. He did not want Margaret using birth control. After giving birth to 3 boys in very quick succession, she began taking birth control pills on the sly (this is all detailed in her autobiography.) Justin was definitely raised Catholic, but I don't know how closely he follows the faith. I do know he is very strongly pro-choice when it comes to abortion.

Prochoice= anti life= anti Catholic

Where's the fraud you alluded to per POTUS appointment of the EPA person? EPA is corrupt to the core.

Sunsilver, I did not ask what he was raised, I asked about his current religion.

All this free time you are spending on knowing about my country, I would think that you first would spend it knowing everything about your own politicians.

Sunsilver if there was any legitimate dope on Trump they would have used it during the phony rigged impeachment process BS.

You don't live here and don't know what is going on, your only sources media wise are as biased as it comes.

If you are going to comment on our country, then your country is fair game.

maybe I misunderstood something but apparently one can be fined/arrested for offensive speech in Canada.

if true, the main issue would be who gets to define offensive?

free speech is the cornerstone of freedom in any country. and yea, I know there has always been limits such as yelling fire in a crowd.

TWC, unlike the United States, Canada practices the separation of church and state, and there is no public information on whether Trudeau actually attends church, although he professes to be a Catholic Christian. And in the context of conservative evangelicals, pro-life means pro-birth, and to hell with the baby and the mother once the child is born!

The GOP plan for pregnant young mothers - the party has done all of these things to prevent young unwed mothers from having a better life:

No birth control for you, you slut!

No abortions! We must protect the precious fetus!

No maternity care for you, slut!

If you can't afford to feed/clothe/house kids, don't have them!

Why should my taxes go to educate your kid when mine are in in private school?

No need to raise the minimum wage! Why don't you get an education to get a better job?

Can't pay your student loans? Loser! NO bankruptcy protection for you!

Why are you living in your car, loser?

The only thing they haven't done is the things that have been shown to actually WORK to reduce the number of unwated pregnancies and abortions:

Better access to birth control and sex education.

Prenatal support for young couples and unwed mothers.

Posptartum support for young mothers who are in financial distress.

More accessible, cheaper daycare for mothers who have to work.

BTW, the abortion rate has DECREASED under Democratic presidents, mostly due to the above. You can google the figures for yourself.

Sunni, you are messed up.

Sunsilver, become a leader in your own nation & fix the problems of your country.

I mean after all, you do not want any of Canada's children left behind as they do not know Chinese & Arabic.

A straw man (sometimes written as strawman, also sometimes straw dog) is a form of argument and an informal fallacy of having the impression of refuting an argument, meanwhile the proper idea of argument under discussion was not addressed or properly refuted.

SS, not trying to be contentious but you are mistaken on almost all points. and I mean 180 out, not a little off.

I live in one of the least progressive states and from the time a girl/woman becomes pregnant she is provided care (if she can't afford it or doesn't have insurance). The child is covered under All Kids (what it's called in my state) until age 18 or finish high school. and this is absolute premium insurance. better than my son has under my private insurance plan.

not having kids if one can't afford them is sound advice for anyone though. I give it to my son. so I do agree there. same as don't buy a car, tv or house if one can't afford it.

anyway, another interesting discussion.

best,
Rik
