'Targeted attack': Kansas police officer's puppy decapitated, left in yard

https://www.kake.com/story/45421695/targeted-attack-kansas-police-officers-puppy-decapitated-left-in-yard

Reminder to ourselves and anyone buying or adopting a dog or puppy: never, ever, ever leave a dog or puppy unattended outside.

And don't assume that there's no new hazard in your yard since the last time you and your dog or puppy were outside.

Prayers for the Officer and her family.  RIP, Ranger.

This is just sickening - that pup looks so much like my female, Eska, did at the same age.

I hope they catch whoever is responsible! :'(

Shocking and yes I hope they get the culprits, but just wondered if anyone else would leave a puppy from 7am until 2pm without checking on it.

I was thinking the same as you mrdarcy ! At the same time I just can't understand the cruelty of humans. Poor puppy. Absolutely disgusting !!

The sick MF that takes out their revenge/anger on an innocent little pup is both a coward & a POS who should be locked up.

After finding rat poison in my back yard and the next night finding partly eaten pieces of chicken in my back yard where my puppy played (and having to dig a piece out of her mouth/throat to prevent her from swallowing it) when I was LE, I would never, ever, ever leave a puppy or dog unsupervised in my back yard, unless an emergency.  Even then, I'd rather bring the puppy or dog with me, except if the house was collapsed or burning down and I was evacuating other critters, people, etc.

Does seem lax, I agree. (But you never know whether press reports are fully accurate, so at this first stage of hearing about it I chose not to comment.)

Skip down below the horse abuse story in Other Animal Abuse Cases for more information about the dog killing case in the OP.  Looks like a Police K9 had a close call

I don't see anything that shows an arrest, yet.

Praying for the people and pets in Parsons, KS
