If she's not bearing down, I would let her handle it. It's when she bears down again and again, with no result, that would need your attention.

My big litter girl would take up to 23 hours to deliver her pups.

And I would probably talk her out and walk her around a bit, take care of business and take blanket/towel with you and watch her at all times; also give her a dose of calcium of some sort' maybe a bit of food with some yogurt on it, even some real ice cream (vanilla of course) a bit of goats milk after walk and call your vet. Heads up for distance of time. Good luck.

Hopefully all is well with the op. I guess I had some beginners’ luck although the timing was interesting. Early Friday morning I prepared the whelping area before bringing her in for x-ray. Vet confirmed 4 pup head count due in about a week. Later that same afternoon she ate and then about an hour after quietly whelped 4 in about 2.5 hours. Not 20 hours later she bolted outside and jumped into the pool and swam with the other dogs just as she did the day before going to the vet. Had to pull her back in to tend to her pups. So far she looks to be a good mom with her first litter, and little worse for the wear.
