White German Shepherd & German Shepherd Breeding (4 replies)

Hello all,
I have bred my white german shepherd female to my colored east german shepherd male. I didn't know if it would be correct to advertise the pups under white shepherd here on the database or should I advertise the pups under 'German Shepherd' on the database? Anyone have any ideas for this? This breeding should produce some outstanding dogs that are white factored and would be a great addition to anyones breeding program if they wish to produce whites with outstanding prey drive and high trainability. Both parents are OFA certified h/e and are wonderful with strangers and children.

Hi Peggy, do you have a website?
If they are all coloured pups I'd put them under White Shepherd because they would be a good addition to a white breeding program (doubt the coloured owners who use the working/show lines would be interested in something that had a white parent... you know, politics and all)
Would love to see more of your dogs...

Hi!
within the FCI these pups are not usefull for us, since they are colored. So they would be interesting for anybody who is breeding outside FCI and who is not breeding white SWISS shepherds (at least 3 generations of white ancestors).

Yes, the FCI White Swiss Shepherd breeders could not use dogs from a coloured mating (not within 3 generations, but maybe even more depending on which country).
Though countries like England, USA and Australia are fine to use pups from coloured matings like this.
Given that the ANKC here in Australia does not recognise the "White Swiss Shepherd Dog", and will only accept imported White Swiss Shepherd Dogs with no registered German Shepherds in their pedigree (ie. Export pedigree must have 3 generations of FCI registered White Swiss Shepherd Dogs", I also use coloured dogs in my white breeding program. I think it is wonderful as I breed more genes into the breed and the coloured dogs have a lot to offer the whites I think!
