The best gift is to make sure when we go into harms way that it is not to line the pockets of politicians! There is nothing more horrible than sacrificing ones life for nothing! Did you know that over 50 thousand american service men died in viet nam! What do you think they would say if you woke them up and told them they died for nothing! Oh sammy my dear boy we would like to say thank you for your sacrifice of death for your country! And BTW vietnam never became a free country! America eventually tucked it's tail and left and allowed the communists to walk right on in! I wonder what all those DEAD soldiers would have to say about that when you thanked them  for getting killed for nothing!

Raymond, Kiss my Ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I served in Vietnam you puke.  Save your political crap for another thread Cindy.  The last thing I want to hear from your punk ass is your political views.  Save them, or flush them down the toilet, at least for today you insensitive moron.
It took 40 years for someone to thank me for serving.  Forty stinking years to hear a young Captain that served in Iraq to say "thank you for serving our Country".  Thank you for offering your Country your life and the price that you paid for us.
Give us a break today Raymond!!  Spout off all your no-it-all stuff another day.

Sheesh and Animules, thank you from me and all my buddies.

Maggie perhaps you need to wake up and smell the herion! Muslum countries strictly forbid the use of drugs under penalty of death. What UD posted is 100% true1 Just what the hell do you think the afgans do with poppies? Pin em on lapels? Since bin laden is not in afganistan why are we even there!

Raymond,  All I can say to you is that I would pay a week salary to have the pleasure of bitch slapping you.  I am done with this thread.  So you can go on and raise a rant.  How I would love to have a counseling session with you, old school counseling.
Ugly, though I disagree with your political views, I do have a degree of respect for you, usually enjoy your posts when dealing with dogs, wish you would have given it a rest on this day though.

Wish I had never opened up this thread, all the crap tainted the few good ones.

MMMMMMMM.........Black tar Opium.
Nectar of the Gods.....LOL.

Politics !!!

This is no way to honor our Veterans.

You say thank you, and you remember the dead.

Most of them didn't have a choice in the matter.

They should declare a day set aside for politicians and call it business as usual, FUBAR !

The Vets I know just wanna get on with their lives and try not to remember most of it.

Some things never go away.

One day a year is enough.

I am happy for those who survived and sad for those who did not.

Most of my friends didn't want to be there in the first place.

Glad you made it back olskoolgsds,  I'll never forget.

Moons.

My sincere apologies to Raymond and anyone else I may have offended.  My comments were not appropriate for this forum, and they speak more about me than others.

Thank you Two Moons.  It is one day a year and that is enough, I agree.

I would not worry about offending anyone, they don't.

Sometimes things need to be said.

Here is as good a place as any.

We thank our Veterans today , yes..but most all of them are very sad ...They just got  their   COLA taken away by the present congress and so did all of us  Senior Citizens who receive  SS>. we lost our COLA also.

Not much to celebrate.. We also have a lot of homeless Veterans in our country..Here in Tyler they had a visitation to the Homeless Inn on HWY 80 known in our state...to boost the moral of the homeless  Veterans living  at the homeless rescue MISSION>

In our small town we have two soldiers coming home this weekend from Iraq, all the people with store fronts have posted welcome home signs and we are making a big deal out of it. I respect these young people more than ever and we go out of our way to let them know it. I thank all veterans that have fought in any war.

Dave

olskool...my heart goes out to these Vets.  It really does.
In the words of George Galloway..

'Our Troops are indeed Brave Lions, but they are being led by Stupid Donkeys'

I want them home. I always wanted them home.
Ive had enough of the imperial, offensive wars and Neo CON agenda.
I want to protect the border and nothing else.
I want to follow the Constution.
I dont want alliances with IsraHell or any other nation.

Sorry, I should have made myself clear.  Im not anti Vet.  Im anti war.
There hasnt been one worth fighting since 1812.

And Yellowrose is right.
We dont give a damn about our vets.
1/3 of all US Homeless are Veterans.  Thats over 250,000 people.
No one cares.  We honor them, but we dont home them.
Sad.

so you think you are man enough to bitch slap me????????????? Unfortunately  making  physical threats over the Internet is quite serious! But you do not have to pay a salary to try it! Come on and try to bitch slap me turd!  I will pay your expenses!  Wow one veteran wants to bitch slap another vet! Please  give it a try! America honors it's vets by not needlessly killing them and forgetting the ones who survived!  To many american soldiers have died for ground given back to the freakin enemy! If shit like that does not piss you off then your not a human let alone an american veteran! Soldiers ARE NOT EXPENDABLE!

I did not get a chance to post my thanks to those who served, both in the past and currently.  The wars are hotly contested, as to whether they were about freedom or about money, and I would have to say that I believe many of them have been more about money than freedom.

That aside, a big THANK YOU to those men (and more recently women) who served and continue to serve our country.  May your country some day give back to you as you have given to it.

Crys
