Thank you -

The "Paint" is actually not a "Paint" (Paint is a breed, not a color) - but it is an honest mistake, how could you tell by looking at pictures.  He is actually a Pinto (color) and his breed is German Oldenburg Verband (GOV) registered Premium colt - he turned 1 year old June 28 - he is a big handsome boy and I love to show him off!  Here he is - looking down at his more recent pictures you will see that at only 15 months he is already almost as tall as his dam (who is 16'2 GOV Premium Main Mare Book mare).  http://picasaweb.google.com/eichenluft/SchoenDekor#

He is gorgeous!
He's 15 months now.  How much bigger do expect that he'll get?

yes I think he's at 16 h now or almost - he'll most likely mature at 16'3-17 h, and be bigger-bodied and bigger-boned than his mother, who is no dainty.

That first pic makes me want to relocate to PA. What a nice view.

Do you mind if I ask? Is that an old farm house that you renovated? It seems to me that a long time ago, you could pick up a nice older farm house without spending an arm and a leg (so long as it was not close to any major city). Is that still the case?

I'd really like to find one for myself to renovate ... maybe on 5-10 acres. Anywhere in upstate would be fine by me at this point.

Ramage, the place was kept up well, never renovated, but updated before I bought it.  It's a simple farmhouse, nothing fancy - there are many fancier places around here - I especially love the old farmhouses and barns built with stone.  Mine is a log home, "sided" 100 years ago with plank board.  It was built in 1780, the barn in 1800.  The kennel "office" you see was a 3-car garage when I moved here - the kennel was constructed when I moved here 6 years ago.

Gorgeous!  Most of the leave here are now on the ground.  A lot of naked trees due to rain and wind.  Thanks for sharing.

I just went back and looked at all the horse pictures again.   He is just so beautiful.  I was trying to pick out my favorite picture....they are all good, but I really like the shots where his mane and tail are flying in the wind.

Absolutely a perfect spot Molly.    How many horses do you have?  How many acres?  Who's the black shep?

The pictures of the mare and foal are really beautiful.  He does look like a big lad!

I have almost 6 acres, with lots of trees and we just put a new house on it.  Still have to get rid of the old one and do some landscaping.  We also have a little horse barn.  Hopefully, it will get done soon.  I can't wait.

Thank you.  It used to be a 280 acre dairy farm - owned by realtors who sold off all of it and even split the remaining 7.5 acre property in half, to sell the portion that is now my horse pasture for another home.  I bought both properties, so 7.5 acres total.  I have about 5 acres fenced for the livestock (3 horses and 14 sheep at the moment).  Still plenty of room for a dog training area, and of course exercise areas for my dogs and boarding dogs.  Everything fenced.

The horses are the bay mare - she is 17 years old now, I've had her since she took her first breath.  She is "Ditto", a GOV Main Mare Book mare.  I ride her and she is bred this year back to the colt's sire again "Sempatico".
The colt "Shoen Dekor" or "Deko" is the bay/white pinto - he'll be 2 years old in late June.  He's for sale, but the horse market sucks right now.
The Palomino is my QH gelding "Dollar".  I ride him too.
I also have two other mares, one Paint and the other Oldenburg, who stay over at my Dad's farm.

The black dog in the picture is SG-Brix v Eichenluft HGH - not sure who the black dog in the scenery pic is - it's either Brix, or Casch, or Upsy one of my females.

I do love it here.
