Hello, I breed dutch shepherds and have dealt with many from different lines. Where is your dog from and who are the parents? What are the parents weight and size? That is one thing that I have noticed with this breed more than others. They develop in a very akward fashion. They go in and out of the leggy and lanky stages far too often as well. I have a female that is huge for the breed at 9 months but I thought she would be taller by now as well since she is so thick. I also currently have a male that I figured would have been done growing at the age of 1.5 but he is now 2.5 and still filling in. Don't worry too much about the in between stages. Your best bet is to look at what the parents are and what they have produced. Especially if it is a repeat breeding. Hope that has helped. Not that size has a big differnce in the power they pack!! |
