Daisy |
Pictures of Daisy from when I got her April, 2009 to now. |
Daisy the day after I got her (April 3rd, 2009). |
Daisy the day after I got her (April 3rd, 2009). She was underweight, had bad skin, and was a little skittish.
She was acquired by my sister in law with several other dogs, including her brother Prancer, niece Jarbeth's Petal (whom I was given that very day as an early Christmas present which I am enternally grateful for), and another dog whom I knew only as Tiger.
Daisy was sold on to a lady in St. Louis. Later, this lady gave her back in exchange for a puppy and, being a rather naughty dog, my sister in law gave me Daisy.
She had not had the best life and I am told she came from a horrible foul smelling kennel. She had spent several days in my sister in law's basement because of her trash digging habits. The lady in St. Louis was said to have kept her as a housepet, but I hardly believe it.
She had pimples, blackheads and was quite skinny with every bone from her hip to her shoulder pins being clearly visible. She was so very pale. She was fairly friendly and only shied away a little bit. She did well with the other house dogs. |
As you can see, quite a lot can change in only a month.
She started thriving as a housepet. She liked to be all over the furniture and enjoyed going outside. Still a little skinny, but most of the pimples had cleared up. Her skin was still rough and she got a little sore spot on her side (visible) and underarms.
It's obvious she's not a solid white dog now. The change is so vast my sister in law jokes that I sunburned her. |

I don't take many pictures, it's true.
This is Daisy 5 months later. She's at a respectable weight now. I haven't yet cut or shaved her coat, this her natural look. She's in need of a bath here, but I think she's gorgeous.
Daisy's always around me and sleeps in my bed every night. She occasionally sniffs the trash and sometimes scares me by sneaking out of the yard. But she minds pretty well and I love her absolutely.
Her skin is still rough in places despite trying several different kinds of lotion. I'm starting to think it may be her diet. |
