Boxerkennel "Van Sapho's Hoeve" (Leke-Diksmuide, Belgium) was registered in 1975 by the FCI. Owners: Mariette Poppe and Johan Sioen, later joined by their son Ingmar Sioen.
The kennelbasis is the old belgian line "Van het dennendaal", in a triangle scheme with ch. Bandelero (Holland) and ch. Xanthos vom Bereler Ries (Germany). A important role also was played by ch. Plato van de Hazenberg, ch. Carlo v.st. Barbara and ch. Franklin-Django van de Matenhof. Later on and gradually were introduced the better Italian, Spanish and French lines.
Some of the titles obtained are: Jahressieger Germany (ch.Roy van Sapho's Hoeve', Jahressieger Holland (ch.Turio van Sapho's Hoeve), Jahressieger France & Switzerland (ch. Brahms van Sapho's Hoeve), Atibox-worldchampion (Ch. Brahms van Sapho's Hoeve) and multiple national (Belgium, Holland, France, Israel, Cyprus, Italy, Germany,..) and international championtitles with different dogs (Ufo, Night, Yéké, Groggy, Toon, Zeus, Valentino, Aiky, Thor, Seiko, Elana, Xarlett,..).
Ingmar specialised in IPO training and showhandling. He - so far - trained over 50 different Boxers to their IPO1 level and participated with 3 of his own Boxers (Quapo, Sultan and Ursu) in national and international IPO3 competitions - gaining the "NBC Clubwinnaar" with Sultan. He participated 6 times at the highest level of Atibox IPO with Sultan and Ursu. He now concentrates on training dogs and giving trainingseminars based on positive reinforcement techniques. His handlingresults can be seen on the kennelwebsite and include 3 Atibox Worldchampions.
Due to the docking & cropping ban in Belgium, Johan and Mariette moved to Spain (Cervera del Maestre) and founded the sisterkennel "De la Finca Sapho", while Ingmar stayed in charge of the belgian "Van Sapho's Hoeve" kennel. Both kennels have the same breedingscheme. The only difference is that the spanish born Boxers are docked and can have their ears cropped. And of course ... Johan & Mariette can enjoy a much friendlier climate along the mediterrean coast. |
