Some of you have probably been fortunate enough to have this breed in your home for years....but I just got my first about 6 months ago. I have always had GSD's and although I still LOVE my shepherds, I am thoroughly impressed by the intelligence my Aussi shows! When he was only 12 weeks old, it was Christmas time and I had sleigh bells hanging from the knob of our back door so we could hear them ring every time someone came in or out. My Aussi put 2 & 2 together that when the bells rang, the door opened! He began to ring the bells to go out to potty without ever being shown! Heck! WE didn't even THINK of it!!! He went one step further one morning when my husband was still sleeping when I left for work. My pup took the bells off the door and drug them into the bedroom to wake up hubby and let him know he had to go!!! Then this past weekend, pup is playing outside in the fenced area and the hose was laying out there. We always keep the hose 'charged' so all you have to do is turn on the nozzle. Well....I look out there and see him playing in the water from the hose. So I think to myself, "Hmmm, must have left the hose on". Well, throughout the day, every time I put him out to play, the hose would end up ON!! So I hid and watched him. It's a twist type nozzle...very similar to a fire hose...and he rolled it on the ground with his paw until the nozzle twisted enough to start spraying water!!! He was having himself a WONDERFUL time!!! Do any of you have stories to share? I'd sure love to hear em!!! |
