Alaskan Malamute

My Malamute/GSD mix loves to play VERY rough with one or two other Malamutes, but ignores most other Malamutes and/or Husky dogs; I am beginning to wonder if this is a Malamute thing, or if it is a WOLF thing....these dogs were all acquired off of CraigsList, and are very intelligent and well behaved, but their pedigree(s) are unknown. My friends have had hybrid wolves, and none of those canines played rough like these dogs do; I am more than a bit puzzled....
