I hope his hemophilia status and that of the females in his tail female line are known because his dam line is a tail female line straight back to a Canto Wienerau daughter & it's possible for the hemophilia A gene to pass through unlimited generations of females.

Ulk von Arlett is the Great Grand Sire on my beautifull Iccara Tomtom Turnaround's Sire line. His Sire is the Very Handsome dog "Ravdansens's Orvar" whose sire is Mischaland's Kwai, whose sire is Vatikan von Bad Boll son on Ulk.
My boy I think takes after his sire line.
His photo and Pedigree are on this database as is his Sire. Annette Batchelor

If you guys happen to like the " von Arlett" well the actual breeder ( Margit van Dorssen ) will be judging on the Conformation/ Breed Survey at the Wesley Chapel Total Dog Club in FL. If interested please go to http://totaldog.tripod.com/ to learn more, including a letter from the breeder her self :)

Also visit her own website at http://www.arlett.de

I didn't get to read the rest of her history but some of you guys may find it quite interesting

If he is the great grandfather on both parents sides it would be a 3-3 linebreeding and acceptable.

I guess it is a hard thing to write out to make it understandable. Alot of confusion, soory. I did ask a few local vets and they said the spacing is fine. So let me try it again:
He is the great grand sire on the mother's side, through her father. And he is the great grand sire on the father's side, through his mother. I was unaware of line breeding until this site so it is a lot to learn. I appreciate all the advise. Thanks :)

Oh, I took it to mean that he was the grandsire on both sides; the grandsire of each respective *parent*. If he is the grandsire of the *litter* on each side, meaning the Sire of BOTH parents, that is 2-2 and yes, too close!

So Ulk is the GrandSire on both the mother and the father side - isn't that a 2-2 linebreeding, (which is too close)?

Thanks Wolf, I'm trying to learn as much as I can on as many areas as I can. It seems the more I know, the more I need to know. Thanks again.

That would be a 3-3 linebreeding. It is common. The closest allowable linebreeding under SV is 2-3.

I know of a litter where he is the GrandSire on the Dam's side as well as being the GrandSire on the Sire's side. Is this common practice? I spoke to some local vets and they said that it is far enough away to not worry about. Any insight?

This is a dog pedigree, used by breeders and breed enthusiasts to see the ancestry and line-breeding of that individual dog. The pedigree page also contains links to the dogs siblings and progeny (if any exist). For dog owners with purebred dogs this is an excellent resource to study their dog's lineage.
