The original poster asked for

German shepherd breeders specially ddr pls answer

Pls give me the name of your kennel because i need sth to prove.

And yet we get

Coming back to what the OP was asking, I don't consider myself competent to hold an opinion about whether there are still 'DDR' temperaments remaining in dogs with any specificaly DDR 'blood' if you go back far enough in their ancestry, 'cos I was never in contact with those Border dogs of which you wrote,

comments without the requisite DDR experience or requested DDR kennels are made anyway ....sigh ... I really wish we would stay on target as the original poster requested  and hear from those like Valk that actually have vast experience with DDR's .... an experience much greater than the limited experience I have with my DDR's

In my experience still waters run deep and it's the quiet ones who have the experience I want to learn from that get drowned out.

Please let's hear from DDR breeders and those that worked with the old DDR's

This is one of my DDR's...... NO Showline here .... frankly I have no interest in turning mine into or breeding DDR Showlines .... mine just don't have that kind of temperament

My Kennel is Triple S Shepherds

"The original poster asked for: 'German Shepherd breeders specially ddr please answer''.

Despite the topic title heading the pages of THIS thred, actually the OP's question was about some 'new Showline of pure DDR dogs' they had heard about. (Read Page One, post one).
Perhaps Stormins is referencing a different thread, where somebody else ( a different OP) was actually looking for "DDR breeders" to buy from ?

Doubtless this other poster would have received similar replies telling them there are no real  DDR lines anymore, it's advertising hype.

by stormins on 05 January 2020 - 10:01

Please stay on target..... the discussion of other threads belongs in those threads.

As so aptly quoted in their post above ""The original poster asked for: 'German Shepherd breeders specially ddr please answer''."   If you do not breed DDR's or as it seems even believe that there are any DDR Shepherds then why are you even discussing the subject?

My Mother is Norwegian.... but now she is a subject of the crown.... there are some without a Scandinavian heritage that believe that her Norwegian heritage (and mine) is now irrelevant.  If Norway was absorbed by Russia tomorrow we would still have a Norwegian heritage and yes look like Norwegians .... especially if  all of my preceding line married other Norwegians.

Just because there is no longer a DDR registry does not mean there are no longer dogs with that heritage or Phenotype.

There is no more combined country of Czechoslovokia ... does that mean there is no more Czech heritage in Slovkian  registered dogs?

German Shepherds have only been around for a little over a century and there were 4 wolf crosses  in the 1st stud book ....Using your same logic German Shepherds  are nothing more than a dog  (or a wolf) and thus advertsing hype.

In a direct answer to the posters question, I am sure he was referring to Judy Malone and her group showing her DDR's  because  it  is easier than getting working titles.  It doesnt change the DDR or it's working abilities  just because some people chose to put a "show" title on them when they were  the only Shepherd competing in a terrier show.

Look at my DDR pictured above .... Absolutey beautiful but I will never put him up for a show title like the below  because he is a working dog.

All this going back and forth.
The blame in all of this is the SV and it’s JUDGES.
They could give a S**T about the breed! It’s all money to them.
Breeders are breeding and not going/ looking back 7-8 generations to see what is behind a dog, and just going to the FLAVOR OF THE MONTH.
That goes for SHOW and WORKING line breeders.
I have owned both and I love this breed.
It’s too bad humans and whatever they touch are ruining this breed with their greed. Both sides are at fault.
EVERYONE who breeds should go back to basics and work together but the SV has made this IMPOSSIBLE!
JMO!

Just answer the mans question and recommend breeders to him. That’s what he is looking for.... BREEDERS, and not going WAY OFF TOPIC!

i understand that picture above is a bitch with DDR roots but was bred by american breeder in present and with present perception of what former DDR dogs was.
if i see that girl somewhere, frankly i wouln't be able to distinct her from common today GSD type.
here is another bitch, also present days but bred by kennel establiahed back in 1965 in former DDR - Maika vom Haus Iris (d.o.b. 05.2010)
the first throught, upon the seeing her somewhere on street - damn, that girl definately relates to DDR dogs.
there are so obviously notable differences that even person absolutely not involved with GSDs cannot miss them.
