Western Rider

Ross Heron from Great Britain is on the field so he can have his dog Black Jack vom Hamilberg tested by fierce Dutch helpers! Blind search and bark and hold were correct. Call out was nice. Escape was powerful and feisty and dog nearly had the helper down on the re-attack. Back transport was correct and again unbelievable power in attack out of transport. The grip was good… Stadium in Tilburg is vouching for this team and showing them their support. Long attack was superb, but dog wouldn’t out. Disqualification…  The grand stand is shaking! Jack wouldn’t out even after the handler came to the dog, so he went off the field with the sleeve! The atmosphere here at this moment is unbelievable!

Where did you find that?

I also wouldn't mind seeing Xanuk v. Grauen Star's protection. He apparently stripped the sleeve off.... twice!

The last protection from this group and also for today – Alfred Wirth from Luxembourg with Xanuk vom grauen Star are ready!  Blind search was fast, but should be more direct and dog wasn´t looking in. Dog attacked the helper before bark and hold and barking should be more intense. First two grips were bit loose and two commands were needed to out on the re-attack. Dog was forging a lot during the back transport and was heeling wide. Attack out of transport was energetic. The long attack was unbelievably speedy and dog managed to drag the sleeve down from the helper´s arm!  The exercise had to be repeated. …the stadium is cheering and supporting Xanuk and he was successful also for the second time and dragged the sleeve down again!!!  Then protection continues – re-attack was fierce and out less willing. No matter that there were mistakes in this round, Xanuk definitely became one of the dogs we will never forget!  The audience is rewarding his performance with standing ovations! Total score 80 points – one would say that this score is not high, but you have to watch and experience this round…

On the re-attack, it looks like this GSD thinks he's a Rottweiler the way he drops his butt, lol.   This is text-book definition of "impeding helper":

Great videos! Thanks Koots!

That last one was of Black Jack. I saw the full protection video on Facebook earlier. What a shame he didn't out at the end. I love a dog that fights!
