Do you consider this dog biddable?

@JonRob - y'know, if US posters and potential customers here are any indication, I kinda doubt the numbers of people willing to buy British or Irish is very high. But for those few who might like to give it a go, I have PM'd you.

Extremely biddable and always offering. Like when you see him walk away, he goes onto the bed and offers a down from placing games. Now this was before his drive went through the roof at around 5 months old and his drive was already very high. His temperament is outstanding and he's always engaged. In bitework he had a lot of conflict because thats when he wasn't clear headed and couldn't handle his drive. If he had the same clear headedness like his brother, boy, what a dog he would be. But it might come with maturity.

Ps: I have nothing to sell and don't sell through PDB, I just like to share what I know, what I've seen and hopefully the pedigrees can help understand. Also, I do believe the extreme biddability in C litter may come through Chicco. If I am not mistaken he had some of the same attributes that Harro had. Could be wrong though.

I'm sure that's true but if the right dog or pup is found it doesn't matter whether he's British, Irish, Czech, or whatever, as long as the buyer can pay for the shipping costs.

I've learned to be very flexible where I look. The last incredibly biddable dog I found for a client was a 2 yo male Ambred who's got it all and even has a fairly decent structure. His family can take him anywhere and never worry about a problem no matter how stupidly people act with him. And he is a joy for them to train. Couldn't care less about balls, toys, etc.--his focus is on his people.

Another breeder that has dogs with high tolerance, super temperament and makes super active pet dogs with working ability are Blackthorn dogs. Met them myself a few weekends ago and these dogs are highly social with a super temperament that want to be with you.

How about some of the dogs from Herding lines? From posts that I read on my GSD-Euro, they were extremely biddable. Now I don't mean the Showline Herding dogs, I mean the true herding dogs. There are several clubs in the USA that still do herding, perhaps explore something from those lines.

Good suggestion. Would have to be one without strong herding drive because those guys are cheated if they don't get to work stock.

I find that statement about herding drive not being a strong drive in every shepherd to be astonishing. Even the most docile of petlines will show herding tendencies ... just not of sheep that aren't there! One needs only to understand what they are seeing.

The different descriptions of the same breed is mind boggling.
It s no wonder so many people get taken for a ride.
A well bred German Shepherd puppy who has the right start in life, is capable in going in just about any direction it's person will take him.
Most are all about pleasing their people.
You get what you give a dog..
I ',ve got dogs from several lines and a few countries, at the end of the day, each and every one of them want nothing more than me letting them know what good dogs they are.
You can t tell everything about a puppy when you buy one, but knowing how someone raises and treats their pups is a good start on finding what is a biddable dog.
