In reality tho that can be managed to a net benefit.

I saw a scuentific paper showing that show dogs are a unique breed within a breed.

Perhaps I misunderstood his initial question of constant family inbreeding. I asked him to clarify and then assumed after the initial 5 lines mating, he was just keeping the lines seperate.

Your initial breeding yeh increases diveristy but over successive generations of family inbreeding it doesn't, until you go out again.

Just to clarify, I do understand the purpose of linebreeding and am not against it.

My link to punnet sqaures, is trying to teach a man to fish, not give him a fish in relation to his question about a carrying recessive. He can do that himself and use the stud as the carrier or just one of the bitches.

Edit: finished typing this when I got home, and just saw the replies after duke. You're right vk I misintepreted your initial question.

I wasn't trying to be right, just trying to get it in my own head. I wonder if this analogy works;

There are 3 islands in the world, one has pure white people, one has pure black people, one has Chinese.

Nobody is related to anyone on a different island (sorry Noah).

One night there is a big orgy, and they all get jiggy with people from a different island, the kids grow up and get jiggy with someone from a different island to their father/mother which is different to their grandparents island.

Can you see how within a couple of generations everyone in the world is now related where before they weren't. Eventually there would be no white, black or Chinese. It would be all coffee coloured people breeding with coffee colored people loosely speaking.

I suck at analogies.

I like coffee lol

No I got what you were meaning after I saw your other post. I misinterpreted stuff until I saw that lol

And I've heard a showline breeder say what you're saying too

Holy crap, my coffee analogy was meant to be a joke...but it isn't. Check how inbreeding created the blue skin people of Kentucky;
