I did a bunch of scans last night (4 or 5 different scanners) to make sure my machine was free of malware--they didn't find any malware, but I did remove a couple of things that were undesireable.

So, I just came to check the posts on this thread and got a re-direct. I really think it's got to be one of the advertisements from the ad services. This is the redirect address that started to popup (DO NOT CLICK): https://dnshost.me/in/0174615323585/?ads=wy0z4b6cj8

I think there is more than one issue that affects different phones, devices, etc. and wireless connectivity.

If people are having problems with an iPad, you can try a few things. The following seems to be working for me:

* Do a hard reset of your modem/router(s). Do this especially if you have run malware software and the problem still persists.

* Clear all caches, you might want to double check and do this manually: (Settings:Safari:Advanced) and then do a complete reset of the device. (Settings:General:Reset: *choose your options)

* Disable JAVAScript (Settings:Safari:Advanced)
This was helpful and solved the problem with my newest iPad, and not necessary for a slightly older one.

The ONLY malware programs for Mac's that are any good are: Malwarebytes/Anti Malware, and ClamXav. Do not run at the same time! Don't bother with anything else, you will regret it.

I hope this is helpful!

I have got redirected several times on this site. All other websites run normal on my CPU, but pedigreedatabase seems to run extremely slow and glitchy.

I think there are bugs.

I recently used my phone two days ago to look at different websites I have been on before and got malware saying they are bad sights, etc. my phone vibrates. So it's not only this site but others I have been on before. I'm starting to thinks it's a new virus or malware that is new that the antivirus programs aren't picking up on. Even when I click somewhere on the page to the left or right I get a popup, so there are stuff that tends to be hidden that you wouldn't be aware of if you don't click it that appear normal from my screen. This is since the last Firefox and Chrome updates on both my computer (firefox) and phone (chrome).

Did you try and disable JAVA in whatever browser you are using? Works like a charm for me using my iPad. I would imagine it would work for PC's, too. Worth a try!

The test for me is the Halloween post on the GSD board. If I have JAVA enabled, clicking on that, I immediately get the redirect. I disable JAVA and go back and click on their YouTube video, and no redirect. The video doesn't play either, but that's okay as long as I get no redirect.

I'll say that ever since I figured out how to actually use my ad blocker, I haven't had any redirects, but before that, it was pretty frequent, especially on this thread for whatever reason. I have it so it only allows safe ads, but before it was allowing all ads (because I didn't set it up correctly).

Those using PCs and Macs should try and disable java and let us know if you stop getting the redirects. If you are unsure how to disable java please do a google for directions. I think I might have found the reason but want to do more research and talk with Oli to see if what I found might be the cause of these redirects. BTW, we aren't infected with adware/malware or viruses and there is a very good possibility you aren't either. I should know more soon.

I don't have JAVA enabled and haven't had it for 6 months or so.

GSD Admin. I turned JAVA back on to post (because It also changes the formatting on my iPads so the ads cover the goto link), to use the CKEditor (won't work without it), and when I went to submit, I got the redirects again, using my newest iPad. They began to repeat with each attempt to navigate, so I then turned JAVA off, and redirects stopped.

If you have figured out the answer to this, I sure would love to know!

This is still happening to me on my laptop and my phone. It's not malware on my end -- I've run scans and now have malware blockers on my phone, too. I just tried to post to a thread and I think ended up with a double post because my PDB window was pre-empted and redirected.
