Prager my question was do you have your own finished superstar out of those hundreds you trained.

Nearly everyone in dogdom can name personal dogs of flinks, Ellis, Bal,...

Just curious to see the finished product.

Joan you need to learn how to tell the dog who may be warm or merely works hard, from a dog who is OVER heated dog;). You are obviously mixing being hot or worked hard and being OVER-heated. FYI. Signs of dog being hot or dog working hard are panting where overheated dog's panting is at first  super fast (machine gun type panting), followed by disorientation and fast, noisy breathing which could signal overheating. Other possible signs: Collapsing or convulsing, bright red or blue gums, vomiting and diarrhea. AKC states. Non of the signs of overheating above are observable on the dog. Fast in fast panting is the the operant word for overheating. The dog on the video my no means is panting fast. He pants deeply but not due to overheating but due to hard work. The problem is that trainers who train dogs in AC and cold to mild temps in super short periods only can not tell the difference. I am training dogs in AZ for decades thus please do not tell me how to tell overheated dog . Of course I know that you are not concerned with dog. There is tres amigos agenda.

I think he deserved the sponge bath that vk suggested, with bubbles. A perrier, rib bone and foot massage would be in order as well.

The owner is familiar with the heat & the dog as well. A dog in good health should be able to burn two minutes in heat. It looked like hard work out.

Hahaha nobody worried for the big guy in the eskimo suit. Looked fine heat wise.

VK I do not train dogs to show off. I leave that to people like you. I train dogs to provide them for work. I do not compete anymore because I have other more important things to do. My dogs have hundreds of apprehension in LE those are the dogs which I
call "Super stars". When my dogs are finished they go work. My satisfaction arrives when K9 cop calls me tells me that his dog saved his butt or caught is XYZth perpetrator or made 7 hr track and bite or when a woman calls me and tells me that the dog protected her from burglar or robber. My satisfaction arrives when I fix fkd up dog for LE work as I have done just recently - dog who was going to be dumped but yet after my training had he his first apprehension and got  tens of pounds of drugs on multiple occasions. That gets me totally high on cloud #9. I also get high when rehabilitate a dog who was going to be put down where all other people with leash who call them selves trainers recommended PTS. I have rehabilitated well over 1000dogs. All those are the Superstars. My satisfaction comes from people who drive here tens of hours with their dogs even from Mexico and Canada to train with me because they want to get their professional security dog to be civil and then they use their dog in dangerous apprehension work. I get my high when I am asked to give seminars in and out side of US .... I can keep on going for more.

To Gigante s point. That's one Hell of a good decoy. How does one go about becoming so skilled and talented.

Gigante thanks for good post. Robert get overheated way before any dog does. Temps that morning were at +/- 80 F . Considered cool weather in PHX.

Hans, working hard is how dogs overheat. A dog can overheat in minus freezing weather when worked too hard.....they just are able to cool off easier in minus freezing temps than daytime desert heat.
I was not talking about a dog cooking in the sun or inside a vehicle.

Maybe you need to learn signs for when a dog is near heat exhaustion. That dog was thumping... and after pretty minor exhertion by what the vid showed.

Btw, i've seen and delt with many dogs tying up from heat exhaustion working on dog tracks. I know what a over heated dog looks like.

For the sake of viewers here, my comments are more to draw attention to this issue for those who actually are interested in avoiding hurting or killing their dog from getting too hot by working.

I know one woman who owned a super malinios that would have rather been aware of signs of overheating from work, before she learned first hand when her dog dropped dead of heat stroke on the training field.

Prager you only needed to say no you don't own a personal finished dog, fair enough, it was a simple question.

The entire advertisement of the hundreds of bla bla was gratuitous.

Hans must have done something really bad, perhaps even in a past life to gain the attention of such well skilled trolls. LOL. Talk about the spawns of Satin

Says the troll.
