The only person from this site I have ever tracked down was the moron we called the flooder. I went as far as making a complaint against him at his place of work because he was stupid enough to use his works computers to post and do some of the things he did. Beyond that I will have to call BS. We could have been internet friends but I told you something back in the day and you ran right to the board and person with it. Turned out I was wrong but that didn't fix the betrayal.

by Noitsyou on 13 September 2016 - 16:09

@beetree, you're trying too hard. I don't take things on the internet personally. You made an anecdote and I made an anecdote. You then took issue and had to direct a comment about bigotry among Sicilians at me. You assumed that I would be familiar with it. Broad brush? Isn't that what you did when you mentioned Italians and then specifically pointed out Sicilians?

You don't need to apologize because you didn't hit a nerve. You don't think I've heard it all before when I was younger? It didn't bother me then either. There is no issue with certain members of my family because they have changed and if they hadn't I wouldn't have cared.

You are an anonymous internet poster to me. How could you offend me or hurt my feelings? Why do you need to believe that you have? Don't project onto me. Maybe you have "nerve endings" but some of us outgrow being hurt by words.

I know more about you than you know about me? You know my name, I don't know yours. I don't know where you live other than the state. You know the same about me. You know things about my family. I know nothing about yours.

I'm not a nice person? Let's see, I never started with any name calling on here but others have started with me. I never wished death upon anyone, like some do with the president, because I disagree with them. I never told anyone they were going to Hell because they didn't follow my religious beliefs. I don't view all Muslims as terrorists. I don't view illegals as scum. I don't believe that gays are an abomination. There is a poster here who has his own forum, you know who I'm talking about, go look at what he and others there post. I didn't use bigotry to try to bait someone into an argument, like you did. If I'm not a nice person then what are all of those posters who I just described?

by Noitsyou on 13 September 2016 - 16:09

And what the hell is CUTCO? Aren't they a knife manufacturer?

by beetree on 13 September 2016 - 16:09

OMG. You have a very selective memory. I can't keep doing this conversation because you flip flop through time talking about things. You don't allow growth. I am trying to write with some discretion, because I DONT want to betray anyone's confidence. Or drag up the dead that should just stay buried.

Do you want me to name the names? Because I don't. I see no point. It is all in the past as far as I am concerned. You won't let things die, and you do hold grudges but say you don't. You just let things drop for a time, and the moment you feel slighted or offended, it is flip, and "back at ya!"

I let something slip once, that I regretted, but I am pretty sure it wasn't you. I know I apologized and made amends with that person. I would have done the same with you, too. IF such was the case, but I need a memory jog, because I only draw a blank!

And in the scheme of things...YOU betrayed ME, is how I remember it. I have NO IDEA what you are talking about. I do know this, you win. Ok. YOU Win. That was your promise to me.

Nona and her daughter, does that ring a bell? I don't hold grudges but I do feel betrayal and then trust becomes a real issue. I have over and over been betrayed on this site and it gets old enough for me to build walls. I don't need names because those names aren't important to me. So, carry on as we all know you will.

by beetree on 13 September 2016 - 17:09

Oh, yes, now I think I know where you are going! Lord knows how you've time warped this.

Let's see, you are referring how you were thinking XYZ was a relation. FYI, I did not "go running to the board and person with it". Only after years gone by, and after your complete rejection of former "friends" with "white" lies--- in the name of protecting yourself, of course... and I think...maybe too, only after leaving the board, did XYZ learn of your suspicion. There was never any "running to the board or the person". It was already old news!

And FYI, you aren't the only one that feels betrayal. Lies tend to complicate things, too. And yet while claiming the feelings of yourself betrayed, you have no qualms asking for information that means someone else is betrayed by the telling. That sure makes the quandry.

We agreed to let sleeping dogs lie! We had said we both were going to bury the past! Bygones be bygones. SMH

It's no use to continue this. I'm done.

by beetree on 13 September 2016 - 17:09

Yes, Notisyou. I am not a robot, strangely enough I still have feelings. If you know nothing about me or my family, then it is because you don't care. I am fine with that.

Look, this whole "misunderstanding" and that is what I think this is, is because I didn't believe your anecdote, and I didn't believe you didn't understand mine. Turns out, you did understand so I was right about that. I wasn't directing the Sicilian comment to you personally. I was actually thinking about the Democratic Party leaders in the Bpt. area. This person is of Italian descent and rumored to have "connections." So, sorry if you thought I was talking about you. Nope. I was not. I wasn't baiting you with bigotry. Nope, you got that wrong.

I bet you are a nice person to some people, too.

And yes, CUTCO is the door to door knife salesman company. They make a great product and their knives stay sharp with a lifetime guarantee.

by Noitsyou on 13 September 2016 - 18:09

It's not that I don't care; I'm not nosy enough to pry into people's private lives. And if you don't believe that the descendants of the very people who enslaved blacks here, who also were the force behind segregation, Jim Crow, the KKK, etc., are capable of using racial slurs then I don't know what to tell you.

I do know that Americans of all heritages are capable of making racial slurs. The fact that you would assume I would recognize a slur because of my heritage is a sign of bigotry or stereotyping. I recognized it because of the media just like words like goombah or gabagool. My family was too busy working to waste time talking pejoratively about black people. Besides that, my grandmother would keep an open door for the children who lived in her neighborhood, black and Puerto Rican, and feed them. What went on in other Sicilian families is not my concern and means nothing to how I view myself.

I'm a nice person to everyone. It's a character flaw. I'm not a good Sicilian in that I am unable to hold a grudge. It's too much work.

And I don't know why you mentioned CUTCO. I never stabbed anyone who didn't have it coming.

Catlo: , you're trying too hard. I don't take things on the internet personally.

Hans: lol Stop lying carlo! Or at least try to be less delusional about yourself. Oh and Thanks for giving plug to my  forum. ;)

@Noitsyou:

And if you don't believe that the descendants of the very people who enslaved blacks here, who also were the force behind segregation, Jim Crow, the KKK, etc., are capable of using racial slurs then I don't know what to tell you.

Well, now that we have cleared up some misunderstandings, I certainly do think WASPs are capable of using racial slurs.

I do know that Americans of all heritages are capable of making racial slurs. The fact that you would assume I would recognize a slur because of my heritage is a sign of bigotry or stereotyping.

I agree, all people of all heritages are capable of making racial slurs. I assumed you would recognize a slur because of your heritage and this was due to stereotyping, not bigotry. There is a difference but the PC world doesn't want to acknowledge that and your subtle framing of your answer with "or" appears to suggest that they are indeed the same, when they are not.

Your Grandmother sounds like a very lovely person. There is a good chance you take after her to some extent and I do want to take you at your word. It is just that I am sure I have noticed when you weren't nice to everyone. I could have sworn one time or two, there was a not nice verbal jab, skillfully parlanced my way, but nothing that left a permanent mark. Mostly, though, I would agree you are okay with me in demeanor. Candor, well, let's just say, at times I have certain doubts.

The grudge thing, time will tell, won't it?

Oh, FYI, and just to even things out for you, I have two boys, one a Jr in College, the other a Jr in HS. Both are swimmers. (I really don't know how anyone could escape knowing that about me, after all this time posting here, but somehow— you did!) I am half German, half... English, Irish, French... we think. One great-grandma was orphaned as a small child during the smallpox epidemic in Baton Rouge. So, we assume she was French. No one really knows for sure. The Irish part is said to come from Limerick, so maybe that is why I like a good joke, who knows? The German part is supposed to be from the Alsace-Lorraine border, but they went to Russia first during the time of Catherine the Great to be teachers and other educated types, and from there came to America and settled in Kansas. Been living in CT since I was six years old. Love my green trees and hills, and all four seasons.

And I don't know why you mentioned CUTCO.

Because you also said:

And you may like to be blunt but I prefer to be sharp.

And I think this was humor?

I never stabbed anyone who didn't have it coming.

Well, at least I laughed! Tongue Smile
