I did call you Carlo, and it was an admission to knowing your heritiage, along with your Pizza parlor family business and Wooster Street savvy, that you would understand the comment. Where you fail, is in ascertaining motive, as in "trying". Why wouldn't I think a comment about WASPs in a comment to me, wasn't meant to be about me? When I comment to you, I certainly think you know I am commenting to you. Usually I do the @Noitsyou thing. Well, today I took a shortcut. It really has been an awful week for me personally and I think that is the only reason why I did that! I slipped and took the easy route. Carlo is so much easier to type. There really isn't any other motive beyond that. I will make sure to use: Noitsyou from now on. Can I abbreviate and use NIY? , will that cause an uproar and offense?

 

I never mentioned a particular vegetable, but you are confident about the choice. Your examples are not my personal experience but they serve to show the same certain bigotry, nonetheless. The only personal connection I hope for is in the truth of conversation. Nothing else. 

Whom am I accused of chatting to, about you? Is it an ongoing thing? How often and what is the purpose? I really would like to know this. Maybe I can make it true if I only knew what you know!

You have some issues. I don't know what you are and wasn't talking about you. If I said that I usually heard racial slurs from Inuits would you have assumed I was talking about you? Was it a comment to you? No, it was a comment on my experience directed to you. Seeing as how I am half WASP why would I make a comment that generalizes all, which would include you, since it would also include me?

The only reason I know about the vegetable is because of that Steve Martin film as I never heard it used that way before. The second time I heard it was when Eddie Murphy used it. In fact, it wasn't pronounced properly by anyone who used it on TV or in films so I didn't even know what they were saying until I eventually asked someone what it meant. So it wasn't because of my heritage that I understood your comment. If anything, it was because of my heritage that I didn't until an American explained it. Do you think they give out a handbook or something or that it is in our DNA? As far as showing the same bigotry goes, no, it isn't the same for two reasons. One, historically the two groups didn't have the same power in the USA. Two, Sicilians didn't own slaves.

So again, why assume that I would know what you are talking about based on personal experience or heritage? You think all Italian-Americans act like a caricature from a Spike Lee film? Should I end every post with bada bing? I would prefer to have you imagine hearing Yakety Sax.

I can confirm one thing, you sure chatted to a lot of people about me. Wanted to find me badly, how did that work for ya? As far as PMs go, I would have to go back through probably at least 30 pages of history to even know if you sent any in the last 2 weeks and I am not doing that. You know what I know about you? You live in a different time zone. And the landscape might be somewhat flat with farmland. That is because you posted a picture once, showing an intersection in the dead of winter, maybe four to six years ago. Time gets to be a jumble of late. I could be wrong, but really, I promise you, I don't lose sleep over that intersection trying to work it as a clue. I didn't know you were just using me for internet intel, in the days before you were Admin. I admit, I was at first flattered by some of your compliments about my opinions. It was a different site with many more participants back then, and quite a few befriended me. You weren't the only one though, that was pretending. At least, in the end, I can say that some of the one's I have met, are quality people.
