And give me your shifty beady eyed look, thanks!

by joanro on 05 May 2016 - 18:05

Why do you always make every thred into personal attacks? I thought that was against tos...and if it is not, at least it shows your true colors.

by joanro on 05 May 2016 - 18:05

'You are one of the first to throw the constitution up when you want to defend the 2nd...'

Flat out fabrication... I've not mention the 2 nd, let alone 'defend' it...

'...but you don't seem to have the same thought processes when it comes to the supreme court nomination. '

WTF !?

You have a big problem that every friggin thred turns into 2nd amendment bs. Take a vacation and see something invigorating, maybe.

The thing about the mob, is they have always infested all the Unions, too. Democrat Mayor of Bpt, Joe Ganim, during his first terms of duty, before he was convicted and jailed for nine years, of pay to play crimes, had entertained doing business with Trump to bring a casino to the city, but the deal never got off the ground. I think Ganim's standard cut was reported at $1 per foot proposed developed space.

Once Ganim got out of jail, the well "connected" leader of the Democratic party, who owns the popular Italian restaurant where the party meetings are always held, well, he played a mighty coup, and ousted the incumbent Dem, who wasn't listening too well, or enough, on how he wanted things working in the government to flow. All the little people when they heard the comeback story being told, decided that Ganim now deserved a second chance, as a good many of them could certainly relate to having spent time in jail, themselves, and how dismally that affects future employment.

My point though, is that when you complain about the mob, and Republicans, I am like... but everyone knows the mob is chock full of Democrats, here on the East coast! They've been doing funny business with the voting enrollments and absentee ballots... forever. The whole garbage pick-up business is connected. Asphalt, yes, and too, I just read they are involved with all the concrete pourers in NYC. So, it makes sense that Trump would have found himself dealing with certain characters and probably paid some tributes, like every other R.E. developer, especially back in the early days of his business dealings.

The mob has been taken down a few pegs, with some key players doing time, since then. But, that probably just means someone else rises and takes the opening spots at the top. Or, then it's the Russians who move in.

I don't think this means that Trump solicited the mob for favors, but rather there are associations because of the industry that are/were unavoidable. He was approached and paid them. The "how much" must have been the ongoing question. That isn't the same as "being bought". If he didn't or wouldn't pay, then he'd just build elsewhere, as what happened in Bridgeport.

When Trump and Hillary both were in CT stumping, it was reported that Ganim visited Trump backstage in Waterbury. He wasn't personally involved with Hillary at all, she paid him no attention, he was never asked to speak or make her introduction at Univ. of Bpt. I think maybe the reports said that he sat in the audience in one of the front seats, at a venue seating only 1000. I don't think she wanted to give Ganim a second chance, or soil herself with his ignominy, myself.

That isn't a personal attack. I don't know your eyes. I have never met you nor do I want to. Do you want a personal attack? Because I could show you one. And if it is, we can make it the new standard. Because honey you aren't innocent and to take it one step further and since you called me out I will tell you that you have had at least 3 complaints about you stalking, harassing and following around members. So, do you really want to go here? Honestly, I was trying to be more of a smart ass than trying in any way to cut you down personally. And finally - I was talking about the smiley you posted, not about YOU personally. Wow.

Bee,

Here is one for you. And please please please quit making excuses for Trumps words, actions and past. It really is getting old. Trump has said these things, done these things and to think he is stable enough to lead this country is insane in of itself. Between Hillery and Trumps abilities to run this country is night and day. I guarantee you this - Reagan will roll over in his grave the day Trump is elected. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2016/05/03/any-republican-who-thinks-its-better-to-elect-trump-than-hillary-needs-their-head-examined.html

GSD,😱  LOL@ "getting old!" You know, my well reasoned post was talking about actual events, not excuses. After reading that Fox opinion, I am going to start thinking you'll be speaking lovingly about The Bush Family, come any day now!

There is a lot of time between now and November. I haven't a clue what kind of creature will be metamorphosing from The Donald in the coming weeks and months. Who knows? Maybe he'll be so outrageous, I'll take a clue from The Bushes and sit this one out? Maybe no one threatening him with constant political gaming brings out a calmer, saner Trump? Maybe Bernie does the impossible and shuts Hillary down?

Truth is: I think either one can lead this country, but which one though, will be for better and which will be for worse? The rest of the world will figure out a way to deal with whomever it is. If it is Hillary, it will be a lot of talk, lots of traveling, that gets nothing happening pretty much with anything, anywhere. If it is Trump, they'll be dumbstruck and cautious, but they'll be listening. And since he's used to getting things moving and shaking, somethings bound to change.

What I want to know is if the general population really is so ignorant that they can't be trusted to choose what is in their best interests? How dumb are we? Really? So dumb we have to abandon our capitalism and our rights as individuals?

Is the US really a capitalist country based on a FREE market?

I am skeptical.

by beetree on 06 May 2016 - 21:05

For the most part. There are exceptions as with most things.

If the rest of the world would play fair, then it would only get "free-er". That isn't happening. We give it all away free and then the world says, "Thanks, USA—suckers!"

by vk4gsd on 06 May 2016 - 23:05

Actually the US manipulates the "free" market more than anyone.
