Kinolog

Not first "pibble" attack but worst bite so far. Does not look like much but hurt like hell. Deep enough to pull up some subcutaneous fat. A few stitches. I won't show you the bites and bruises too close to my @$$.

Neighbor's dog. He has two and he has stopped walking them and turns them loose in his back parking area, not even a collar. Dogs are not trained and certainly do not come back on recall! By some miracle I found no injuries on my own dog. My foo-foo show dog really surprised me, and though I take no pleasure in it, it is reassuring to know how much more fight he has in him than WL people would have me believe. I did what I could to kick that shitty thing off of him (hence the butt bites) but he was all right doing for me and for himself. Could have ended a lot worse. Hope it never happens again!

Called 911. Cops and EMS showed up fast. Will be talking to a lawyer tomorrow.

Ouch ! Sorry to see this, Kinolog. Good to hear
your "foo-foo Showdog" did his bit, though. Give
that pup a steak ! Hope you mend quickly.

Good luck with your attorney; something similar happened to us while walking my the 7 month old GSD boy and my then 8 year old Samoyed boy; both dogs were injured but my husband was OK, really shook up though as he had to "strangle to death" the pitbull X to get her off our dogs and to be able to get away, she just kept coming at them. I was not there thank god but dealt with the aftermath of it all at out vet(s) and the stupid owner of the pit X. JHC, such idiots, thank god we had witnesses. No one could believe it. And also since these idiots were renters the owner of the home could not get homeowners insurance on his property any longer. Animal control would do nothing, said they had to wait until the "dog" any dog bites someone. Cant believe how idiotic that is. Typical of California; homeowners pay the dues.

Anyway hope you are OK; be sure to take some type broad spectrum antibiotics.

Your greatest recourse is to notify the owner of the dogs insurance company. If they find out these dogs are attacking people/dogs they will take action and cancel their owners policy.

Boy hug your dogs, get well soon. Nan

That doesn´t look good. wow.
They don´t sew dog bites over here because of infections...
Take care!

Hi Mary,I hope you are ok. Those bites don't look good but I know you are very strong woman and you'll be fine.I hope ''Bravo'' is ok. I always liked him since he was a little puppy. He was the smallest male from this litter I brought from Germany from Ramona, but he was the most courages and always kept his own,and never allowed his bigger brothers to kick his but. I always like him for his super conformation but also for his tough confident temperament. Wish you the best and get well .

Jerzy,

He did not have a mark on him. The only thing I could think of when I was at the ER was going home and checking on him. My arm hurt like hell but its healing really fast.

I kicked that insane pig off of him a few times but he did more than ok for himself. He is very sensitive to my moods and he did really well on a test I gave him for a research project. But, man, he was not backing down from that pit bull, and I was not just going to stand there.

They impounded the dog for two weeks and he just got a ticket for a roaming dog. The guy is a jerk and an idiot. The next time I see one of his fucking dogs coming at me, I swear I will beat it to a pulp. He will need a shovel and a bucket to take it home. He does not like that his dogs bark when they know mine are next door. Tough shit.

No one fucks with my dogs. Period. I know what the laws are and I will do everything by the book. Right now I am doing the paperwork for small claims court. It really is not about the money. I think it will add up to be close to the statutory maximum with the ambulance ride, 2 ER visits, etc.
I'm still pissed. I keep this big hammer on the porch that I use to pound in the stakes for a practice show ring. I call it the hammer of God. I also got a can of bear mace.
Hopefully, nothing will happen but it helps to think about things and be prepared.

I liked Bravo as a puppy, and I loved wstching him grow up. He is a lot of fun and he has a big personality. And he always gets me laughing.

I plan on checking out a training club really close to me. They do French Ring, and the accept the BH. I found a young lady who has become my training asdistant and she is interested in learning to handle Bravo in the show ring and wants to learn more about being a decoy.

So my life could be worse! When I say it has "gone to the dogs", that's a good thing!

Kinolog, did they tell you to get a tetanus shot just in case? I know some dogs just have a nasty temperament, but I would to be on the safer side in case these dog's don't have their rabies shot up to date. I hope you are okay and sue the pants off of this idiot! I would also let all of neighbors around your area know what happened so that they can be safe when walking.

by old shatterhand on 27 January 2016 - 14:01

Mary I am glad you are ok. I would carry a gun instead of a hummer, that's what we do in Texas. Get a permit and this way in case something God forbid happened again You can protect yourself and your best friend.Say hello to Bravo from me. He is a top dog his conformation is superior ,if you remember at the NASS he beat in a young class dog from first ring in Germany SG 50 BSZS .Bravo is a super top male and if you do something with him he'll place very high at the shows here. Good luck Mary.

Glad you are healing well; as Old Shat says, you need more than the hammer; we got a Tazer type 18 inch weapon to carry and totally legal to carry, bought it on Amazon and it goes everywhere with both of us; you do have to touch the object though it is not like the police ones that shock from a distance.. Think it ran about $65 bucks. We also went back to our boy afterwards and realized the POS had ripped my boys shoulder open...stupid owner did pay vet bills but what about my 7 month old shepherd boy and his trauma? That part can never be fixed, I am just going to let him kick ass next time. Then I will shock the shit out of them if they even think about coming after us. That's my plan anyway. Good luck, be careful and cautious and safe. Nan
