Anyone follow it; have you raised a litter and followed the imprinting/training for puppies? What success have you had? Pros/Cons?

Thx Nan

I have adopted several of the practices, especially the early scent introduction. I was already doing the early neurological stimulation. But my FAVORITE puppy raising protocol, especially for NEW breeders is this one by far:

Although I am not familiar with Avidog Program, my husband does imprinting with his English Setter puppies. He holds them with his hands and turns them upside down, uses cold rags, warm rags, feels their paws, etc. He based what he did on the U.S. Military Socialization Program. The results have been amazing. The puppies are extremely bold and are definitely more socialized puppies.

Loyalville, can you tell me where I can find more info on the early scent introduction?

Nan,

Gayle did a webinar for the AKC on Early Scent Introduction. You can see it here: http://www.akcchf.org/educational-resources/Webinars/puppy-noses.html

Our Raising Brave Puppies video on demand is coming out at the end of the month. Our program is a fully science-based program that has taught new and long-time breeders many things that they can do to raise confident, healthy puppies. We strongly disagree with many things taught in Puppy Culture, but find other things to be similar to what we do. Having raised over 50 breed, agility, obedience and tracking champions we are confident in not only our puppy raising system, but in our evaluation program as well.

I hope you enjoy the ESI webinar. Hope you will check out our VOD!
