I am wondering if anyone feeds Native Dog food? We are currently feeding Fromm Gold, but we are finding it does not contain enough protein/fat for our dogs. We need something with a little more gusto.

Thanks.

Ingredients look decent, not a horrible food.
Take a look at Nutrisource Super Performance too.

Are you really sure you want to feed all those grains?? I would be looking for something without grains; higher calorie; clean and out sourced if possible. I have had great luck with Acana; much better than Orijen; Orijen for my guys did not work.?? Go figure...

Just a thought... Nan

Lots are having great luck with Victor foods also; I also like Nutrisource products. Any of the above looks to be better quality than Native. JMHO.

Well, I posted to ask people's luck/opinions with it. I have yet to make any decisions. I won't feed Orijen or Acana. I tried Victor and they need 6+ cups a day to keep them satisfied. We are also looking at Nutrisource (I have fed that in the past so I didn't need a forum info request for that).

I do not have any issues with grains with my dogs, so grain free is not required.

OH OK Understood: I don't think Native is going to be high enough kcal/cup?? Seemed low to me, however, I say what works for one does not always work for another. Goodness what are you doing with your dogs that requires 6 cups/day of dog food?? Just curious, that could break the bank. Maybe Zignature?? Also maybe add some ground meats to whatever kibble you might find; as long as the kibble works, adding meat could bring in some natural fats/proteins.

Is it true that Victor switched around some formulas? Also, I am told the grain free ones don't hold weight on dogs, but the hi-pro and performance are good? Any contest to this?

The never ending dog food dilemma. Ugh. Lol.

I used the Victor Dog Food for 3 months on all my dogs (my kennel)...I switched back to TOTW because Victor Dog Food didn't hold weight on my dogs...In fact I was feeding a bit more food when using Victor and my dog still lost weight...
