I know I haven´t been in the States for 8 years now, but why are GERMAN breeders listed as AMERICAN breeders ( Haßgall/van Dorssen ), and why are there sometimes several breeders listed for one kennel name ( Mittelwest and Mittelwest II for example, several "breeders" listed, sometimes 3 persons, but different from dog to dog ) ?
Otherwise - a lot of "VA´s" as usual...

What I tried to ask: Would I as a German living in Germany be able to found an American kennel within AKC ?
Are kennel names within AKC not connected to one breeder ( once again, for example Mittelwest, I saw several, so it´s not about this particular kennel).

I don't know why Margit is listed as USA. The "Mittelwest II" dogs is because they already had a dog with that name. They breed a lot of dogs so if the dog's name is popular (or even not very popular), they will have to add numbers behind it to have a unique name. You cannot register a dog with the AKC unless it has a unique name. For example, one of the dogs in the catalog posted is "Kona". I looked up Kona with the AKC and there are two of them:

Thank you, VK, but I was not interested in the dogs, but in the persons listed as breeders. Over here one kennel name = one breeder, but in the result list there are dogs listed out of well known kennel names with DIFFERENT breeders.
I always thought Mittelwest is Julie / formerly Danny and Mittelwest II is her daughter ( should be a young lady by now ), but on several dogs there are listed at least 3 breeders ?!? There may be 3 owners, but 3 breeders?

Co-breeders/ co-owners

No idea, sorry. All my dogs have had one breeder (one person) or just a couple (husband and wife).

No doubt about co-owners, but official co-breeders? After all not that important - I just wondered.
But I am really curious about the German names listed as breeders - is it possible to be a member and breeder within American AKC without living in the States? Sounds like a new loop hole.

@momma - I am confused regarding your initial posts on this thread. What is it exactly that you are bummed about?

Under AKC rules unless there is a lease the registered owners of the bitch at the time the breeding took place are the breeders. So if the breeder of the bitch is co-owner with 2 other people and no lease is filed then all 3 are listed as breeder of the bitch's litter.
