30 homes were lost to the fire in Rock Creek area of BC, and the fire is still not under control. The Stickpin fire in WA state (now the Kettle Complex fire) is nearing the Canadian border, only about 1.5 miles from Grand Forks and Christina Lake. The fires have been rampant this summer and many people have lost so much, especially the families of the fire fighters in WA state - condolences to them. The forecast here says rain possible for the weekend, and I sure hope so as it's very smoky in south-east BC. We need about a week of steady rain.....
