I think its really sad that people that use that tax refunds as a saving account, now are getting less back because of Obamacare..

As I have done for many years, I prepare taxes for many friends and family members.  I do this to help them from having to pay to get it done. Some of these are hard working people living from check to check just TRYING to make a living.  Not being able to afford insurance of any kind, they are now being penalized on their tax returns. Yes most of them realized that would happen, but not much they could do if they cant afford insurance. This year the penalty is not that bad, but still bad for some. Next year's penalty will be significantly more.  Fortunately, we are not in that situation, but sadly I really feel bad for those that this affects. It is hitting too close to home for comfort.

This angers me to see so many dead beats dragging the streets claiming disability due to the lack in ability to properly function because crack, Meth or Heroin messed up their heads. While these people are exempt from having to have insurance because they don't work,  there is the elderly hard working man with so much pride, providing for his family, struggling to make ends meet. Please tell me how this is fair.

Its not about being a liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat!  Its all about humanity and common sense.

Just had to vent..

I know what you mean but people in some states are qualifying for Medicaid like programs. I believe in some states the income level is about 23,000 for 2 people and slides up and down depending on income and dependents. I had insurance for part of the year so I got hit with a small penalty. Just depends on your state government and whether they opted in the enhanced Medicaid program unfortunately many Republican states decided to not cover their poor working people and this is what happens. Really sad in my opinion and I know plenty of poor who are struggling to make it. If they are working as you are aware they are eligible for the earned income tax credit which should help offset these costs. Imagine when these same people get a bad illness and are slammed with massive hospital bills. At least millions more are being covered with Obamacare. Lets hope our goverment does the right thing for the poor and working poor and for that matter the middle class.

You still filing by hand?

No, not doing it by hand. I am a certified tax preparer and each year I have to renew my certification. So many changes every year.

We can only hope it will get better. But as I see things now, that may not happen for several more years before we actually feel the relief. So sad.

I agree 100%

This ACA along with a ton of other unconstitutional "mishaps" over the past 190 years - is about to be challenged on ALL floors of Congress. Be patient, it's coming.

Until then - we need numbers. The American people are about to win one way or another.

It might seem like the people are getting the shaft, but, "the ends justify the means". - LOL

This ObamaCare was a challenge to pass for a reason ya know. But it passed, soooo, "don't let a good crisis go to waste" - LMAO

At least now 2014 we have the numbers on record with the IRS. Remember the IRS is in bed with the FED and both are "illegal" via the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence. 2014 taxes just proved it, plus, linked the "point source". And... they are "private" IDs. See where this is going ? If the US Government charges a penalty and or fine on the people for "private" revenues, hummm, well, thats not "frivolous". Bat We can finally "follow the money". We didn't get that AUDIT the FED passed, but, ObamaCare passed. This is almost tooo funny !!! America as founded... is WINNING !!!

It is what it is. Ha Ha
