Yes I know this is a really crappy picture... but it was the best shot I could take with my phone. I don't know how to upload a good image of the x-ray.

My vet is an idiot and says he shows "early stages" of HD, but says it would be Pano. WTF! Well does my pup have HD or not? Going to another vet next week and getting a second opinion... but in the meantime... what do you guys think?

This is a video of how he runs... and the way you see it here, is the way he runs at all speeds. Normal? Or cause for concern.

He is currently about 54lbs 25" tall and going to be 5mo old this coming Sunday.

Those hips are unfortunately quite bad.  How old is this puppy?

This xray isn't diagnostic. Do you plan to have the new vet xray him? If so, may I suggest  that the pup is lightly sedated to the point of relaxation? IMO this puppy has normal hips for breed and age, but a better xray is needed.

I think it would be ok to switch him to an adult food now.

NEVER try to judge a dog's hip conformation by the way it walks or runs.

bump - this goes with the OP's other post about the same dog.

@Blitzen

I'm not sure I follow

Isn't this the same xray of the same dog you posted in another thread about hip dysplasia? If so, it looks like most think his hips are normal for breed and age.

they look fine , his hips right now, please dont worry, for me i wait till 12 months to do an xray for hips , that will give you a better picture. bunny hopping is not really a good indecation on HD many puppies do this at 4 months, i also have a 4 month puppy and she does this too , i wont worry, just yet and the only way to know for sure is to do the xray at 12 months to get a better picture then. i do think its a good idea to switch to adult food now. i use Fromm Gold, love this food.
i had a male puppy years ago i never had on puppy food and low protien adult food and he bunny hop all the time , he went through pano and i did his hips at 14 months and they turned out to be excellent hips , so please try not to worry just yet.

@Blitzen

Yeah thats my post too.
When I posted this thread, I realized it was on the "main" page cause I couldn't figure out how to put it on the GSD forum.
Then I figured it out and posted it there.
