I think the state I live in, PA, is probably at the top position in the increasingly scarey "Kiddies Take Your Guns To School" category. What else would one expect in a place where the schools close for the opening day of deer season? :(((

Nothing wrong with closeing for the opening day of deer season. I live in Colorado, i remeber columbine and was at Platte Canyon H.S. evacuateing kids. As our Sheriff said, when he went to Platte canyon it was common for kids to have rifles in the racks of their pickup trucks in the parking lot at school. Yes I come from Hickville High too. Allot of farm kids and just good ole country boys. I was in school right as the gangs where showing up here. My mom wanted to buy me a gun to take to school in my purse imagine that? I had to explain to her I didn't need it for my safety, I didn't have any enemies and that I would get my butt kicked so far out of school, it wouldn't do my accademics any good. Can you imagine that backwards talk with mom? LOL "Yes dear I think you need a gun". "No mom not a good choice at all". Obviously mom trusted my judgment on the use of handling a firearm. Shoot, I think I was 12 when she bought me my own 22 rifle. Just what every little girl dreams of for her birthday! Ha Ha, I said "I'm still waiting for a horse". =) Got him the next year. Boy did I wanna ride him to school. Now I live 2 blocks from my highschool and not sure I want my daughter attending there. Boy are times a changin'.
