This boy is available from the same shelter-Humane Society of Beckly WV-as Roman, the senior GS. In need of adoption, foster or Rescue.

I'm unable to right now, but one of these days I'll have the place and means to foster. I hope Sarge and Roman are able to be rescued.

?? So he was a stray? How is it that he was up for adoption if his owner was known?

From what I've seen, it would seem that animals are listed while still on stray hold and then become Urgent and subject to gassing when their hold is up unless fostered, rescued or adopted.

Yes, you're exactly right. .. they post all dogs the first day they are picked up as stays so as not to waste time. .. odds of being reclaimed are usually small, but in this dog's case his owner actually cared about him and was there to get him the next day.
