Oso, All of my females have started losing thier mucus plug 5-7 days before whelping actually began, so it does happen. The
one female has had 3 litters and all 3 times started with stringy mucus a week before hand.

i am also very intrested to see if your female has pups, as my girl seems to be doing the same thing and she is a proven female, but did have a very strangle cycle this time.

Ladystark, still wondering if there's been any news? Fingers, toes and paws crossed over here for you!

Hi guys,

She ate her food yesterday  and today well. She's just less hungry in the morning so her 7am meal gets eaten around 10am. She though eats a lot during her 5pm meal.

Her nipples are more perky and hard lately since she started producing milk. She's still her old self, barking at birds, stealing my other dog's chew toys, going about her business.

What did the Vet say?  I am now with the others, I think it is time for Xrays.  If your vet will not do it, go to another; now it is all about protecting your girl.  At this point, the risk to the puppies is not high and worse case scenerio, your girl goes into labor.

If your girl has a favorite treat (the to die for treat), take that with you and give it to her while at the vet.  This might help calm her down.

The biggest concern is a single or a pair of puppies and she does not go into labor at all......

Hope the OP is planning on making a trip to the vet. Not worth the risk not to, I don't know how you can stand the worrying about your girl.

Hope all goes well for your dog.

My biggest FEAR is  a DEAD PUP inside not moving into the canal..

BY this time all or any pup should be in the lower birth canal    and it is able to be felt ..

I misspoke.  When I said " the risk to the puppies is not high " I ment by getting the Xray done.  Yes, I think the pregancy has gone on too long and there might be a puppy issue in that regard.

i am a bit worried about my girl as she is now 58 days and has alot of preganacy signs, but i dont feel no puppies , so i will go and do an ultra sound just in case she has a dead pup. at this point would you do a ultrasound or xray to know if there are any dead pups? this female has never done a false pregancy before, if thats what this is. Thanks-
