Runfast.
You do not know what you are saying. If your dog get stuck in Pittsburgh while you are in Phoenix or you get call, from the cargo of a airline 2000 miles away to come and process the dog there or customs tell you that you must have a broker and your dog (or pup!God forbid!) gets stuck in some funky kennel for $150 per day over a long weekend. Then you will think that broker is a valuable service too.
Broker are not at fault; but bureaucrats, legislators passing stupid laws and lazy airlines cutting cost are.

I have imported 2 dogs into Atlanta and used a broker both times. I thought it was money well spent, although not necessary for a direct flight. You just have to do a little extra leg work.
