LUMP ON TOP OF MY DOGS HEAD ? - Page 1

Hello there i was just wondering that if anyone could possilby help me plz,as my 5 well nearly 6 yr old german shepherd has got a had and big lump  the size of a golf ball on top of his head ,between his ears,when he was diagnosed with it which was about 16 months ago it was onlyt a small lump then and the vet said it was just only a cyst,but we r concerned about him now as its grown so big and the vet said it wouldnt possilby grow any bigger ,also its a hard lump and when we feel round it ,it just seems to be fed at the back of it and theres as if its feeding on his blood supply, and also hes quite a difficult dog when he goes to the vets and hes big and storng , but apart from that hes an ok dog .This is my 2nd german shepherd and i had my other bay for 14 yrs ,so plz if anyone could help me thanx as i have looked on numerous web sites and really nothing is telling me about it thanx ever such alot  if anyone would like to get back to me thanx again SALL xxx :-)

Yes, get him to another Vet asap.  Get that thing taken off or at least drained. 

Benign cysts and lumps can eventually turn cancerous. Get it OFF of him.

ok and thanx for ur help but thers no saying that it is a benign cyst xxx just that its so hard and big but dont know weather its goin to get any bigger theres no fluid in it xxxx

Did the vet take any fluid out and have it checked? 

I would have it removed, and if your vet did not suggest this at the onset I would have the work done by another Vet.
I had a knot removed from one dog before in the same place, it was originally caused by and injury and the hair had become in grown, it healed fine and no scar. 
Things left too long can turn into bigger problems.
Whatever it is have it removed.

You need to take your dog to another vet for a proper diagnosis.  There are too many speculations; some with more serious implications than others.  My first thought could be lipomas (www.peteducation.com/article.cfm) but you need a vet to take a biopsy to confirm the nature of this bump.  Good luck.

The  dr's told my Dad he  ahad a fatty cyst and  leave it alone. Well that fatty cyst turned to  a cyst/cancer. Get the darn thing off. If there is  anything  foreign on  your body your imune system will spend  it's energy fighting  it.
