I used Tamiflu in a litter of my pups summer before last.  I had one male become VERY sick, very fast. He spent  8 days in ICU. One female at home started vomiting and getting lethargic; other three girls showed no symptoms at all.

I immediately started all four on Tamiflu. If I recall correctly the sick girl got 25 mg twice daily and the asymptomatic pups got dosed once daily. This was the "new" very virulent CPV 2C virus. All pups had been vacced twice; two of the dogs that were in ICU with Arian were almost one year old and also fully vaccinated.

Whether the Tamiflu made the difference or not, who can say?  My sick girl Ayla, turned right around and the other girls never got sick at all.

It's very important  to note that treatment should be started BEFORE the pup becomes really sick.  The Tamiflu prevents the virus from adhering to cells, so if the body is already pigged with virus, it's not going to help.

Not arguing the benefits, just pointing out the dangers.

I think they are making major head way with treating parvo .It is still very expensive but alot more pups are living . As my vet says you can only treat the symptoms .

it helps, but IV treatment is the best!
