I'll just start by saying, no this was not a puppy showing "excitement urination" or "submissive urination". I was at my friends house when their 7-8 year old male got up off the couch where the wife was and jumped up on the recliner with the husband and was peeing all over him. He wasn't leaking/dribbling either, he peed on his shirt pants and the recliner. No dominanting/challenging type body language that I noticed. Just kind of "out of the blue". We were all calm and relaxed watching a movie when this happened. Has anyone ever seen this before? Thanks

Oh, I might also add that this dog is a full time house dog and is house trained very well. He is left alone daily when the couple go to work.

Maybe he wanted them to pass the popcorn..Just joking.I have seen dogs pee on there owners when they had to go out to relieve themselves and the warning and asking from the dog was put on hold for a bit.I don't know if this is what happened in this case that's just the few case scenarios I have seen.

Might want to make a trip to the vet's office for a physical check up first and foremost.

My parents 2 year old female lab has a problem controling herself and recently was curling up, relaxed and calm with my dad in a chair and peed all over him.  They're now working closely with their vet to identify and treat potential physical causes, such as weak bladder control and the like.

Well this dog normally does ask. He has a place in the hallway that he goes and sits and looks at the owners and they know to let him out, but not this time. Maybe his age is starting to get to him and he can't hold it quite as well as he used to. I know it's not really funny, but I can't help chuckling about it. You should have seen the husbands face when he realized the dog was peeing in his lap, LOL!

RLHAR, I believe this is the first time it has happened, but I'm sure the owners will have him at the vet if it continues. They are very good about taking him to the vet whenever needed. Muttlover, yes this dog was nuetered as a pup and is now 7-8 years.

I had a cat that would pee all over everything including me every time see would get a UTI. she found a way to tell me she wasn't feeling well............vet, pills and in a day or two she was all better.

The dog needs to go to the vet for a complete check up.

RLHAR

Is the female lab spayed?

Sometimes spayed females will become incontinent after they are spayed.

As for the male, I'd have him checked out as maybe there is something weird going on there if this is the first time it ever happened.
