Jantie, Ignore the bashers information is good and the more one can get the better informed. Marlene

Jante, I did not need your report to surmise the effect of the bottleneck of Hoch lines in Germany. I have been saying this for years. Do not worry about the distractors, but it is clear people have sold out the integrity of the best working breed for beauty and money, and that isn't an opinion, its there for everyone to see.

You know its funny; I can remember when the American showline people started breeding all these Champion Lance grandchildren to each other to further the sidegait, and angulation necessary to achieve it. This was mid-seventies and the temperament wasn't completely shot yet. I remember telling people "then" that disaster was on the way if they continued in this direction. The" act itself  "of this close inbreeding on some questionable stock just to achieve these "flyers", and then the "DISEASE" that will follow, of many sheep breeders following this formula until ruination of the breed ensues. Wellllllll its 35 years later and sure enough this has happened in spades, well I saw the same thing occurring with the Germans with Canto/Quanto, but with the Sch tool as a buffer it took longer, but eventually genetics would back these breeders in a corner," that health issues and temperament issues ",would be more frequent than other lines of GS that didn't go down this bottleneck path(except the American showlines which did on Lance and their problems are even worse). So, I just look back on all these things and sadly shake my head and remember the adage," money corrupts, and BIG money corrupts absolutely"....(smile)!!!!

You welcomed any comment, you have received mine. Sorry it offends you but if you are going to do a study leave out emotion and speak to fact. If you speak to fact make sure you capture all that is relative to the subject. Just speaking of the number of studs is shallow.

Hi Ehrenwald! Just for the record: I  wrote: "I will welcome any comment you might have. "I did NOT write: "I will welcome any insult you might have." Just speaking of the number of studs, would be shallow indeed. You might not be aware of the fact, that I am addressing several problems through my weblog, and still have a long way to go.
