What does INS (insufficient?) P/O stand for??,,,,,Does the Y stand for yes? If so does it mean that the dog outed when it was commanded to?....Does the N mean it did not out?,,,Thanks..:)

Maybe someone can advise me?  I must be doing something wrong.  Looking at the working class bite work results....I go to the results page, I do not see any dog's names or numbers, just the results.  When I look at the entries I see names and numbers but no results..do you have to count down and match them up??  Thanks....

Quite a show this year. Entries were up 33% from last year. Just as it was looking like USA was slipping away from the show side, a big rebound. A big rebound at a time when it is difficult to see how it could. The reasons for the decline, gas prices, economy, etc., are still there. The WDA NUSC had a small turnout in the same area just a few weeks before.

It's more expensive to travel with gas around 4.00 a gallon. Indianapolis is a central location, but, you can't fly a dog in. We had to fly to Detroit and drive, others had to fly to Chicago. The judges are the same SV/USA combination. USA has stayed the course and still promotes the total dog. Many of the dogs are out of coat this time of year. Yet this show rivaled the NASS with entries against the odds. Whatever the reason, and there are a few theories, it appears the show people are back,,,, in force.

One thing mentioned on another USA sieger show thread was the level of work. I think back a few years when the working class protection was a series of dogs where many were limped through the the process. There was a lot of helper assistance and tricks used to get the dog through the routine. It was pretty ugly at times and there was a lot of chatter on the boards as you may recall. The test this year looked much better. People took pride in what they put on the field. Where the atmosphere was once; we hope he can pass, people are putting some work into their dogs. There is more of a focus on working ability and training. Prior to the sieger show I went to a few seminars and worked with a few helpers. There were others that did the same. I think there's pride of ownership coming through now. Having a dog that didn't do well was one of the unlucky ones years ago. Now it's a shortcoming on the owners part.

In the past there was no recognition for the effort. Your dog passed or failed. That's changed. There are performance awards with trophies awarded. Announcements in the classes where outstanding performances were noted. This year the performance was scored. In the top right of your results was a number. The 9's were pretty much performance awards. Mine came off the field with 8's. I was happy to know what a working judge thought of my efforts.

Another breakthrough is the Universal competition. A few years ago USA was lucky to have one or two dog meet the requirements. There were 5 in contention this year. There was much more emphasis put on the team, awards in the closing ceremony and special recognition. It's good to see this being promoted.

More later about the show itself,,,,,,,,,,
