You can supplement with tumeric powder to reduce the cysts and possibly prevent them. I have a long stock coat GSD(rawfed, possibly the fish oil supplement is responsible) that gets them and a couple have dissappeared.  She has one larger one on the base of her tail that hasn't gotten bigger, but hasn't shrunk either...that one was aspirated and biopsied by the vet to make sure it was a benign cyst.  Others that popped up on her side, neck and shoulder have dissappeared after giving a tumeric capsule daily.
