I'm glad Debby came on & gave an explanation and now I think it makes sense.  To me she is saying the cost of the pups is $1,400., however; if someone is solely looking for a pet, she will give them a discount, and a limited registration to keep everyone honest. If it were me, I probably would word it a bit differently.

Echo, she isn't saying SOME for one price and SOME for another.  She's saying all the pups can be had for either/or.

At least the ones who fail are trying.  And the ones that don't pass don't breed. with responsible concientious breeders.   We can see the measure of your sucess in the production of your kennel.  So many of those are the buzz of the GSD world.   Latest litter is "R" - 18th in the alphabet - and Z dogs in 2001.  without looking at 6 pages of dogs with this kennel name, and just spot checking - I can't find ANY  sch titles - please point out the pups who are titled and therefore can .  Lots of puppies though on photos of your G sch2 STUD.  Nice females you  use for breeding, where is the pedigree on X litters dam??  What is the "improvement to the breed" that you are offering?  Don't you usually start wtih a top quality dog and try to improve from that?  Call a spade a spade.  This is a pet quality commercial program and offers a nice second - or heck, maybe primary - income to the owner.  Probably very nice pet dogs.  Fills a market niche.  Nothing so wrong with that - but just be honest about it.

Echo,

Wile I did not read the ad inquestion, I have seen many times one price for limited and another for full on the same dog. This I consider to be disingenuous and an embarrassment to legitimate breeders everywhere. Every pup is a gamble. Some are more promising, others are less promising. The pups from top lines selling for $7500 mostly do NOT turn out to be top competitors or to breed on. I sell pups with an obvious disqualification such as a coat at half price, but registration is full. A buyer is always cautioned as to the responsibilities of breeding including training, joint screening, breed survey, etc. and also counselled as to the REALISTIC potential of the particular pup. The point is that a dog either has SHOW potential or not. Breed quality is not known until far later, and so does not enter the discussion with puppy buyers. Most are not interrested in breeding, and do not realy care if they even get papers, but I give them anyway as a good faith gesture of value. I am generally against spay/neuter unless there is a specific reason, and it MUST be after 18 months or health warranty will be void. Best Wishes, Jonah

I do find it strange when "breeders" who do not title or show thier own stock sell pups on a limited registration, because they don't want an unproven dog bred (like they did)!

jdh,  Good points !!

sueincc,  just because the people we bought our dogs from had no place available for them to train does NOT make me the bad guy,  do your home work !!

How's this price range on a litter? This way you can take deposits on litters 5-6 weeks before they are born and still sell them at all different prices to insure being able to sell all the puppies in every litter you have.

1) Limited Registration, Pet Companion, No guarantee $1,100.00
2) Limited Registration, Pet Companion, guaranteed $1,700.00
3) Full Registration, Show/Working potential with No Guarantee $1,500.00
4) Full Registration, with rights to show and breed, Guaranteed  $2,100.00
5) Full Registration, Pick of litter, Guarantee $2,500-$3,500.00

This is a litter currently being advertised and the above prices are from puppies from the very same litter $1,100-$3,500.00

sueincc,  some for one price and some for another eigther or ???

I more took it that she has some Pet Quality "Limited Reg."  and some with more potential "Full Reg."   I would predict that SHE would help purchasers make the determination as to which is which and which pups are more suitable for they're utility !!   Breeding, Pet, Working,.....

Am I wrong Debby ??

I guess I try to look at things in a more posative light than Sueincc EVER does....

But I certainly am giving Debby the benefit of the doubt and making the assumption that she has some pups that are Pet Quality=Limited Reg.   and some pups with more potential= Full Reg.

by EchoMeadows on 23 September 2007 - 16:09

ohh and that she has likely predetermined ( in her own mind which she has the right to do )    Which pups are which and would point her buyers in the right direction according to they're needs, wants, desires, expectations.....

Echo, you are such an ass.  For once in your life try to stop putting words in other peoples mouths.
