Thanks all.

Wow your puppy prices in the US is from an other plantet,

here in Holland pay max € 800 for great WUSV male or or outstanding female GSD puppy

X malinois are plenty females doing better than males or have great hard attacks,
there is not so much different in quality what I see.

All that flashy is nice for show but for me not always important I look

for a complete quality dog with the whole package

2 female GSD  place 1 and 2 @ SV bundesqualifikation   nice work

There are plenty of females in the United States that perform better than males, at the lower levels it’s not rare at all. When you get to the higher level though the statistics speak for themselves. About 20-25% of the dogs at national events in the United States are females, at that level, it’s very difficult for a female dog to consistently outperform a male. You’re talking the best of the best dogs, all of which have drive and power. But the weight difference and the overall physical difference with muscle strength due to the natural biological difference between males and females is clearly apparent. While a female’s long bite can be very powerful and very fast, 99/100 times at the highest level, a male’s will still be faster and more powerful due to the natural difference in the physiology of the different sexes, there just isn’t any arguing with that.

And trust me, I live with a very capable, fast, and powerful female. But at 50lbs, she can’t come close to matching the power that a 70-80lbs male can bring. This female has beaten plenty of dogs at higher levels and has taken high protection multiple times over national level males, but she’ll never be able to make up the 20-30lbs difference.

And yes...puppy prices are pretty outrageous at this point, the market isn't as efficient as the one in Europe. But at 800 euro, plus shipping, you're probably talking almost $2000 in order to import a puppy. Therefore that's where many puppy prices start. It used to be (like 2 years ago) that $2000 would get you a puppy from highly titled parents, today, if the female has a BH you can ask $2000 and get it, so that causes anyone with a half way decent titled bitch to ask more, and they get it too. It's unfortunate and pricing many good trainers out of solid litters and solid dogs to bring up and compete with.
